The 7th GB9 Midlands Classic has come to its climax with Chris Hall, Craig Osborne, Damian Massey and Chris Fraser sharing the spoils at the Park Inn hotel in Telford, Shropshire.
With a new season upon us, it was time for many to sharpen their games and prepare for the seventh staging of a GB9 season. With the new two-tier Challenge Cup format and return of the Pro Cup, there was sure to be some tight and action packed pool during the weekend.

HALL BEATS THEM ALL FOR MAIDEN MAIN TITLE
The first main event final of the season saw Darlington’s Phil Burford come up against Wakefield’s Chris Hall. Both players have been stalwarts of the tour for a number of years now, and it was fitting that two such players should contest the first major showdown of the season.
Hall opened his account for the weekend in fine style, dispatching of Welshman Nathan James 9-0 in a mere 35 minutes to secure passage through to the last 32. Here he met two times defending Universities Pool Council 9-Ball champion Benji Buckley in a much closer affair. Hall came away victorious, however, with a solid 9-5 scoreline ensuring safe passage to the round of 16. His opponent, Dave Evans, suffered almost the same fate as Hall’s first opponent. 9-1 was the score in favour of Hall, taking the Yorkshireman through to a quarter final showdown with none other than Tony Drago. Smelling blood from his early exit in the World Snooker Welsh Open earlier in the week, a quarter final was the best he could manage here. An incredible match which Hall won 9-7 saw the pair share no less than SEVEN break and runs between them in a match that took just 66 minutes. Hall then had another high quality match in the semi-finals, this time against Ipswich’s Craig Osborne.

Dynamic Billard European Championships forecast
From March 30th until April 9th, 2014, this year’s Dynamic European Championships for Men, Women and Wheelchair Athletes will be played in Hotel Acapulco in Kyrenia, North Cyprus.
The flagship event of the EPBF with numerous participants from countries all over Europe is already casting shadows. For almost two weeks, Kyrenia will be the epicenter of the European Pool scene. Titles will be up for grabs in straight pool, 8-ball, 9-ball, 10-ball and team competition in the various disciplines (team and straight pool in men and women category only). According to the EPBF’s head office in The Netherlands, currently almost all fields are filled with the maximum amount of participants. Over 33 countries will have their players representing their colors in the battle for European Champion titles.
Due to it’s wonderful location on the sunny island of North Cyprus, this European Championship could be perfectly combined with a holiday for the whole family. Sandy beaches, temperatures of over 20° C and the warm hospitality of the local people will make this pool billiard tournament a trip to remember. But even if you cannot make it there, you can still follow all the action of the Dynamic Billard European Championships. The event will be played on 24 Dynamic III match tables. It is planned to have all 24 tables in the Live stream. That means that every match can be viewed from fans and supporters in every part of the World. You can be part of the action and watch your player doing his/her best to take a shot at the title. Universe Announced as Official Clothing Supplier of Mosconi Cup XXI
Matchroom Sport is delighted to announce Universe Clothing as the Official Clothing Supplier of the 2014 PartyPoker.com Mosconi Cup. The Georgia-based operation will be responsible for the design, manufacturing and retailing of all players’ shirts for 21st running of pool’s transatlantic team showdown.
This will mark the first time in the event’s illustrious history that replica team shirts will be available to the fans to show which team they support. Each side will have two separate designs created, and the shirts on sale to the public will be exactly the same as those worn by the players when the action gets underway at the Tower Circus on Monday December 1st.
“We’re very much looking forward to working with Nick Bashizi and his team at Universe to help create the team shirts for what will be a new-look Mosconi Cup,” said Matchroom Chairman Barry Hearn.
“We’ve never had team shirts for the fans before but I believe that Universe has the vision to make this happen in a big way, and I’m looking forward to seeing a sea of team shirts in the crowd at Blackpool!”

Total9Ball England Trials
The T9B England trials took place yesterday at the Hurricane Room, St Albans. 28 players in total competed for the remaining 4 places in the England A team and 6 places in the England B team. The format was simple, double elimination races to 9 in both sides of the draw with no handicaps. The double elimination format was played down to 4 players winner side and 4 players losers side and at this point there would be a random draw of winners against losers. The winners of these playoff matches would represent England A alongside Courtney Symons and Mark Lunn at the Home Nations Championship held at St Albans at the end of the March 2014. The 4 losing players would be automatically selected for the England B team with the four players beaten in the previous round playing off for the final B team two spaces... did I say simple?

The 2013 BWPPA season reached it’s climax late last year, with Aslam Abubaker topping the rankings.
The new season promises to be just as exciting, as we move to our permanent home for the tour at Stoke Mandeville, where we will play 3 events, and the other 2 events will be at the Escape Pool Bar in Barnsley.
In the last few months, the Gentlemen’s Night Out, Kamui Tips, Simonis, Predator and other sponsors have agreed to continue to support the tour in 2014 and hopefully beyond.

2014 US Bar Table Championships
TAR will be providing live streaming pay per view coverage of the 2014 CSI US Bar Table Championships from the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada. We will also stream the final few matches of the US Open One Pocket event.
The days matches will loop until hour before the scheduled start of the next days events. The loop is done as a courtesy to our viewers who may miss part of the live event. The contents of the loop may not be all of the days matches due to numerous factors. No refunds will be given if there are problems with the loop. The live part of the broadcast is covered only. This is due to the fact that running 23 hours a day over a week presents many possible issues that are outside the control of TAR staff.
