EUROPE TAKE DAY 2 TO LEVEL 2022 MOSCONI CUP AT 4-4

Team Europe took day two of the 2022 Mosconi Cup against the USA to level up at 4-4 at Bally's Las Vegas live Sky Sports in the UK, DAZN in the USA, Canada, Italy, and Spain, Viaplay in the Baltics, Scandinavia and Poland and networks worldwide.
Day two began with the Fans' Choice Singles Match with Earl Strickland and Jayson Shaw, respectively picked. Strickland was looking to roll back the years and he was doing more than that as he rallied into an initial 3-0 lead to leave Shaw quiet in his chair. Shaw found his rhythm again in the fourth and a costly scratch from Strickland in rack five put him within one. Another scratch from Strickland in the sixth when trying to cut the eight in gave Shaw the most accessible opportunity to level things back. The comeback was soon complete for two-time MVP Shaw who riled the crowd up to pull Team Europe within one overall at 3-2.

Team USA took Day 1 of the 2022 Mosconi Cup 3-1 against Team Europe to a raucous 2,500 strong crowd at Bally's Las Vegas live on Sky Sports in the UK, DAZN in the USA, Canada, Italy, and Spain, Viaplay in the Baltics, Scandinavia and Poland and networks worldwide.

Team Europe went into the team match looking to taste victory in the cup's curtain-raiser for the first time since 2018 whilst the USA was hoping for the home crowd to bring the noise and they certainly did with an inspired opening point 5-3.

Congratulations to Alan Coton - McDermott 9 Ball Series Grand Final Champion
Well folks, this was it! The day of the McDermott 9 Ball Series Grand Final had arrived!
And what a high quality day it was!
With plenty of pool action for all the players, including side events for anyone gracefully exiting the tournament early, play started promptly. With it being finals day, the races were longer, further rewarding the better player on the day.
It also led to some hard-fought early games. Daryl Garland and Can Ibrahim, and Bash Maqsood and Tom Emes both went hill-hill, and Luke Hart and Ryan Wissett both had good 9-7 wins against Dave Hopkin and Ashik Nathwani respectively.
Szymon Rodewald had a good win against David Hine, and Daniel Baker had probably the standout win of the early round games by sending Benji Buckley to the loser’s side, 9-5. And Shane Conroy survived a potential banana skin in Crash Bang Carter, beating him 9-6.

Imran Majid Wins The Multi-Ball Winter Open

IMRAN MAJID takes home the 4th trophy of our 2022 Tour and secures his spot in the Masters Final next month!
The Multi-Ball Winter Open welcomed 32 players to battle it out over 8, 9 and 10-Ball for a top prize of £500 and a place in the Masters Final later this year.
Rod Altes has been dominating our weekly tournaments and continues that form at the Winter Open. He's had some good results at the previous opens but this time he found an extra push of confidence to bring his best game, taking out Craig Osborne in a very tight semi-final that deservedly earned him a spot in the final. But the man on some outstandingly fine form, Imran Majid comes out on top!
Imran has had some solid results at all of our 2022 Tour events falling just short of the top spot each time but last week he came ready, looking stronger and more focused than ever.

EARL STRICKLAND OUT FOR REDEMPTION AS FINAL WILD CARD PICK
Earl Strickland is the final wild card pick for Team USA ahead of the 2022 Mosconi Cup getting underway at Bally's Las Vegas from November 30 to December 3 live on Sky Sports as well as on DAZN in the USA, Canada, Spain, and Italy and on Viaplay in Scandinavia, the Baltics, and Poland.
Captain Jeremy Jones opted for Strickland to join his side of Shane Van Boening, Skyler Woodward, Oscar Dominguez, and Tyler Styer with the Pearl out for payback after being forced to withdraw from last year's cup due to a positive COVID-19 contact trace. It was heartbreak for Strickland in London who has won the joint-most amount of Mosconi Cup titles with nine and will go on the hunt for a historic tenth as the USA look to take the crown for the first time since 2019.
There was an outpouring of support for Strickland last December after his withdrawal and he will look to create more huge moments once again having produced some of the biggest ever from battling with snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan in 1996 to claiming MVP in 2005 as the USA beat Europe 11-6.
Strickland admitted he didn't think he would be picked again: "Last year was unbelievable but I knew it could happen (positive COVID-19 contact trace). The pandemic was impacting everyone. It was the nature of the situation. That said, I am glad to get this chance. Maybe, it will be my last time representing the USA and if it is my last chance, I will make the best of it and show what I have in my locker."

DAVID ALCAIDE COMPLETES TEAM EUROPE FOR 2022 MOSCONI CUP
David Alcaide has completed Team Europe for the upcoming 2022 Mosconi Cup set to take place at Bally’s Las Vegas, live on Sky Sports, from November 30 to December 3 as well as on DAZN in the USA, Canada, Spain, and Italy, and on Viaplay in Scandinavia, the Baltics, and Poland.
The 2022 World Cup of Pool winner joins his winning partner Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, Joshua Filler, Albin Oushcan, and Jayson Shaw as the final wild card pick for Alex Lely's European side ahead of reigniting pool's biggest rivalry with the USA next month.
Alcaide has been on the winning sides in two of his three appearances including last year and the last time Europe won in Sin City five years ago. He will link up with compatriot Sanchez Ruiz for Europe for the first time.

2023 UK OPEN POOL CHAMPIONSHIP TO TAKE PLACE MAY 30 - JUNE 4 IN LONDON
The 2023 UK Open Pool Championship will take place at the Copper Box Arena, London from May 30 to June 4, 2023, with entries for the 256-player field Major Ranking Event set to open on Monday, 24 October at 3pm UK time and spectator tickets set to go on sale on Monday, 31 October.
