Wiley gets the nod as USA captain
FOLLOWING A 16 year absence from the event, winning 1996 Mosconi Cup player/captain CJ Wiley returns to London this December as skipper of the American team at PartyPoker.com Mosconi Cup. The 47 year-old Wiley from Texas was in charge of the side in London in 1996 and had the honour of potting the winning 9 ball in a 15-13 victory.
After a highly decorated spell at the top, including winning the ESPN World Championship, Wiley wound down his career in the 2000’s, choosing to focus on a successful business career. He’s now back and will be facing one of the toughest challenges of his career as he attempts to rally his side and try and turn their recent Mosconi Cup fortunes around.
“It's an honor to be chosen to represent the USA Team as Captain in 2012,” said Wiley.
“I have been honored with the ‘Player of the Year’ award and won major championships; however being chosen to represent my country and its best players in the Mosconi Cup is something I value as an even greater personal accomplishment.
“I know that the European Team has dominated us over the past 6 years and I know it's going to be especially challenging to go into York Hall in front of a highly enthusiastic home crowd and win the Mosconi Cup.

Olympic-Online Baltic Pool League 2011 - Stage IV Baribal Billiard Club Tartu Highway 63/Hermanni 1 Tallinn Estonia www.olympic-online.com www.baribal.ee More photography from this event by Juss Saska

Baltic Champions Denis Grabe in action in Tallinn. All photography courtesy & copyright of ©Juss Saska. Grabe still unbeaten at Olympic-Online Baltic Pool League
This weekend saw the fourth stage of the Olympic-Online Baltic Pool League 2012. The venue was Baribal Poolclub in the centre of Tallinn, Estonia, and the game was 8-ball. In the men's division the weekend didn't produce any surprises as Denis Grabe (Team Olympic-Online) claimed another stage victory. In the women's division it was Anna Prisjaznuka from Latvia that claimed the title.
It was quite clear from the early stages of the event that it would take a tremendous effort to stop Grabe as he stormed through the field with comfortable wins over all his opponents. In the semi-final Grabe needed to battle for a place in final with Latvian sportsman Peteris Ermansons (Team Olympic-Online). After trailing 1-2 it was all about Grabe in the end as he won rack after rack and the final score was 8-4. In the lower side of the chart it was not so one-sided. Kait Hinn from Estonia and Saulius Vaitukaitis from Lithuania were both up for the chance to try to break Grabe’s winning streak in the final. However first they needed 15 racks to decide who gets the hot seat in the final. It was the host Hinn that was a little better in the end and won 8-7.
The final started well for Hinn as he kept pace with his good friend Grabe. However Grabe turned up another gear at 5-5 and clinched another title with a final score 8-5.

All photography courtesy of ©JP Parmentier/MatchroomSport. Karol Skowerski is Masters Champion!
IN A FAIRYTALE ending local player Karol Skowerski was crowned 2012 ClubWPT.com World Pool Masters Champion as he put away a host of big name stars over the course of the tournament before ousting fellow Pole Mateusz Sniegocki 8-6 in a tense final at the Hala Legionow in Kielce, Poland.
Skowerski had earlier beaten Shane Van Boening, Tony Drago and Nick Van den Berg en route to the final, where he faced Sniegocki who had entered the Masters field via a qualifying event. Hailing from Poznan, Sniegocki was no slouch himself, having beaten Ralf Souquet, Alex Pagulayan and Dennis Orcollo in earlier rounds.
“I still can’t believe it and maybe tomorrow morning when my wife pinches me it may sink in,” said a shell-shocked Skowerski.
“I felt calm throughout though and for me you need to forget about the tournament, money and title and just concentrate on the pool. And it worked for me tonight.”
The Kielce native added, “The crowd helped me because when you play in this arena and you know that all the people around are behind you then it’s very helpful and motivating.”
After reaching the finals of the PartyPoker.net World Cup of Pool in Manila last month with compatriot Wojciech Szewczyk, Skowerski certainly let everyone in the pool world know who he was and with this win he has the perfect launch pad to move into the upper strata of the game.

Friday - Sunday 5-7 October 2012
All photography courtesy of ©JP Parmentier/MatchroomSport. Sniegocki is first man in Semis…
POLAND’S NO.1 ranked player Mateusz Sniegocki became the first player to make it throughto the semi-finals of the 2012 ClubWPT.com World Pool Masters as he beat Alex Pagulayan 8-6 in a tense quarter final match at the Hala Legionow in Kielce, Poland.
It was a proper scrap with neither player showing a whole lot of fluency and when the Canadian Filipino opened up a 4-1 and then 5-2 lead, the crowd started to quieten down. Sniegocki had to dig deep and find something and he did as the cashed in on some sloppy play from his opponent to claw the racks back.
A break and run from the Poznan man in the 10th game saw the match go to 5-5 as Sniegocki grew in confidence. Pagulayan regained the lead in the next but ran horrendously out of position with just two balls left on the table and the Pole made it 6-6 in what was anyone’s match.
The Pole took the next to reach the hill and just when he needed it, he played a perfect break and run to reach the semi-finals where he will play either Mika Immonen or Dennis Orcollo.

DEFENDING CHAMPION Ralf Souquet was the first casualty in the 20th annual ClubWPT.com World Pool Masters shoot-out as he went out to local hero Mateusz Sniegocki by 8-6 at the Hala Legionow in Kielce, Southern Poland.
It was a drawn out war of attrition that went on for nearly one hour and 50 minutes for its 14 racks as both players struggled with the break. Nothing went smoothly for either player as they grappled with a succession of awkward layouts but it was Sniegocki, the 27 year-old from Poznan who dug deep and prevailed.
The Pole lead in the early stages, 1-0, 2-1, 3-2, 4-3 before Souquet finally took the lead at 5-4. With the momentum in his favour ‘the Kaiser’ looked favourite, but Sniegocki dug in and won the next two to put himself within two racks of a marvellous win.
Souquet took the next but it was Sniegocki who prevailed, a brave bank shot on the 5 ball setting up the victory.
This is the 20th edition of the ClubWPT.com World Pool Masters and Matchroom Sport is working in partnership with the regional billiard organisation, Swietokrzyskie Stowarzyszenie Bilardowe as well as the Mayor’s office in Kielce.

BWPPA Ranking Event No.5 - The Dynamic 9 Ball Championship Rileys Pool, Snooker and Darts - Wavertree Church Road North Wavertree Liverpool Merseyside L15 6TE www.bwppa.com www.rileys.co.uk
Saturday/Sunday 20/21 October 2012
Click the image to view the larger poster - use "back" to return here. All wheelchair cue-sport players invited to compete in National Championship
The 2012 BWPPA season reached it’s climax at the last event in Liverpool with Tony Southern topping the rankings, but with Roy Kimberley close behind in the battle for the coveted end of season no 1 spot. Roy after his win in Cardiff is now only 30 points behind, and has to finish 2 places above Tony in Liverpool to reclaim the top spot he held for so many years, but it will be tough, with a big field expected for the event, including Ireland's former World 9 Ball Champion and winner of the first BWPPA event of the season, Fred Dinsmore, again making the trip over the Irish sea.
In the last few months Predator Cues has agreed to continue to support the tour in 2012 and beyond, and this year this includes amongst the prizes available, a top of the range Ikon cue will be presented to the player at the top of the rankings at the end of the season, so the battle between the top 2 has plenty at stake.
A number of our players will be using the event as excellent preparation for the World 9 ball Championship in Germany in December 2012, so it promises to be an exciting event.
The tour welcomes players of widely ranging ability with two events spanning the weekend. This means that non-elite players can battle amongst themselves in the "Challenge" Cup as well as having the opportunity of matching themselves against the top players on the tour in the main ranking event.

| Total9Ball rolls out national tour in 2013 |
Click the image to view the larger poster - use "back" to return here. Total9Ball to expand nationally
Total9Ball are proud to announce our first National Series ‘The National Undefeated Series’. T9B have been operating for nearly two years now with great success, we have now organised three series of events which were mainly held in the South as well as several one day events meaning we have now offered over 30 events to players. T9B has fast become a leading player in tournament event organising
The new National Series will begin in February 2013 with 6 planned events to be held at clubs up and down the country.
The format we will use for this series is the 2x format also now known as ’The Undefeated’. This format was created by T9B founder Phil Wildman in 2011 and the feedback from players that have competed in these events has been fantastic. The format offers all players two chances to win the main prize, it also has unbeatable value for money as players can get into the prize money twice and also guarantees each player a minimum of two knockout matches. No player has yet managed to scoop the jackpot prize by winning all matches meaning they would be the Winner and Runner Up taking the two main amounts of prize money... Can you be the first?
