Scotland's Jayson Shaw - Another Pro9'er becomes a World Champion!
Scotland's Jayson Shaw has won the 2010 World Men's BlackBall Championship after a thrilling final match, televised live on Eurosport, with a 8-3 defeat of France's Sebastien Ramier in Limoges, France.
A delighted Jayson said, "the setup was different class and the organisation and venue were on a par with the European's run by the EPBF I attended in Germany in 2008. In regards to the future hopefully I will be able to attend more International 9 ball events, starting with all the Eurotour events leading up to competing in the more prestigious events like the World Pool Masters, 9 Ball World Championships, 10 Ball World Championships as I feel I am now reaching the level needed to compete against the best players in the world at these disciplines."
Hundreds of players from 15 countries attended the spectacular international event, featuring the cream of the small ball game's elite players, battling it out in separate divisions for Men, Women, Seniors, Juniors, and Team titles. England's highest finisher was Andy Lucas who bowed out in the Last 16 Stage to France's Jonathan Lefevre, but Scotland had sent a strong contingent to France and in true-to-form style, they won the team event as well.

Predator Cues adds ‘Exotic’ updates to popular cue
Predator Cues has updated the P3 cue, one of its most popular cue series ever, with two new P3 Exotics. The newly launched cues – Golden Oak and Leopard Curly – deliver the solid feel and accuracy characteristic of the P3 Series, but with exotic wood details. The Golden Oak and Leopard Curly P3 Exotics represent the third installment in the P3 Series.
“Our P2 and P3 Series has been a success for more than 10 years,” said Karim Belhaj, president and CEO of Predator Group. “We released the new P3 Exotics for players who love the feel and accuracy of the P3 but want more exotic styling.”
The Golden Oak and Leopard Curly P3 Exotics each prominently feature curly maple wood, and are accented with a chrome butt cap with the Predator logo. The Golden Oak cue exterior is entirely curly maple with a golden-oak stain, while the Curly Leopard has equal-width striping of unstained curly maple and exotic leopard wood. The P3 Series first launched in December 2008 with the original P3 cue in metallic black with black matte striping. In 2009, Predator celebrated the company’s 15th anniversary by releasing P3 White, a limited edition cue in metallic white.
The Pearl Strings Together A Victory By: Gerry Mayen

A slew of other great shooters were in the competition as well, including: Thorsten Hohmann, Mike Immonen, Ralph Souquet, and current US Open Champion Darren Appleton.
Though play started on Thursday morning, the excitement began during the draw held at the player’s meeting the night before. The luck of the draw was not so lucky for some players, as some amazing matches were drawn right from the start. Ralph Souquet and Corey Deuel, Gabe Owen against Ernesto Dominguez and Donny Mills took on Dennis Hatch. Any of these early matches would have been worthy of being the finals, but the random draw played no favorites and the crowd got a special treat of seeing these remarkable matches in the opening round.

Rankings updated after China Open
Before the China Open, Finland's Mika Immonen was sitting on top of the world in the Men's WPA World Pool Rankings with 7 Europeans listed in the World Top 16 but it's all change at the top with the final end-of-year rankings published today, as Mika is replaced by the Philippine's Francisco Bustamante.
Top European in the Men's Ranking List goes to Great Britain's Karl Boyes at No.2 after a tremendous year pushed him skyward, but it's clear that Asia is dominating the top of the list, with the vast majority of the top 16 comprised of Filipinos and Taiwanese players.
The Women's Ranking List has a much stronger European presence, with Allison Fisher and Jasmin Ouschan taking No.2 and No.3 spots respectively, after Korea's Ga Young Kim in pole position.

Riley’s Barnsley Tour Stop 4 - 29th-30th October 2010
The final event of the 2010 Dynamic Wheelchair 9-Ball Tour boasted the second largest field of the season with 18 top class wheelchair pool players descending on Rileys Barnsley in a bid to end the year on a high. Leicester cueman Aslam Abubaker took the title of 2010 British Wheelchair 9-Ball Champion, reaching his second final in three events he’s entered this year, Aslam defeated Tony Southern 7-1 in the final of the Main Event. Tony had played solid all the way through the event until the final where Aslam was to be the stronger player. Abubaker came through the field undefeated which given the quality of the tour is no mean feat. Fellow Midlander Roy Kimberley holds onto his #1 spot at the top of the Main rankings yet again despite crashing out of the Main Event at the quarter-finals stage, losing 7-5 to Danny Luton. The tour also welcomed a newcomer Phil Hendrickson from Cardiff, a top quality player who came through the one loss side only to get beat in the last 8 7-5 by the eventual Champion Aslam Abubaker, we would like to see Phil at more events in the future.
In the Challenge side of the draw Frankie Gillen ends the year at the top of the second tier of the tour despite losing in the first round at Barnsley to the eventual Challenge Champion BWPPA Chairman Matthew “The Mole” Gleaves who beat Haider Sheikh 5-3 in the Challenge Cup final after beating Craig Welsh in the semi final 5-1. The Mole also retains his number 2 ranking on the Main Event final rankings for 2010.
