To all current and prospective GB9 Members. After a successful 2017 season, the GB 9 Ball Tour heads into the final event later this month in a good position heading into 2018. With the GB9 Committee firmly focused on the on-going success of the tour into future years, we have decided that there will be an opportunity for all players to provide feedback at event 5 on any aspects of the tour. The exact timings for this session are dependent on the match times for Committee members but will take place on the Saturday afternoon and announced at the event. If you are unable to attend the event and would like to provide feedback, or if you would prefer not to do it in person, please contact Adam Stevens in advance of the event (either via email or Facebook message). Dates for 2018 I am pleased to announce confirmed dates for all 5 GB9 events: Midlands Classic:16 – 18 February Paul Medati Trophy: 1 – 3 June Northern Masters: 27 – 29 July Southern Masters: 7 – 9 September British Grand Prix: 9 – 11 November Planned Changes for 2018 Whilst final decisions on the 2018 season cannot be made until after the feedback at event 5, the following changes are planned for the 2018 season: Format Change After successful implementation of the UK Open format for the previous events in 2017 and 2016 and the under-represented Pro Cup events, we are looking to adopt the UK Open format going forward in all GB 9 Ball Tour events. This would mean a double elimination format (down to 32/16 tbc), with all players not making the single knockout stages entered into one of two Challenge Tier events. The Pro Cup will be removed and pro entry fees will reduce in line with other members. This change allows us to recycle prize money currently allocated to the Pro Cup into the Main Event at each event, making the Main Event a more attractive proposition for players of all abilities. For those not making the paid places in the Main Event, there will be a second chance to cash in the Challenge Event. Entry Fees Membership fees for the 2018 season are: Men - £475 Ladies / Wheelchair. - £375 Juniors - £275 Any player who completes their membership application and makes the deposit payment (£100) before 31st December will receive a free GB9 Polo Shirt.
