Enter Event 2It’s nearly time for our favourite event of the season! You can find all event details and the entry form on our websiteWe are approaching the deadline for booking hotel rooms – 12 March 2013 – PLEASE BOOK NOW if you haven’t already. The only way to book is to Telephone: Reservations +44 (0)1952 429 900, quote GB9 April event. If you book any other way e.g. online you will not be added as part of the GB9 party and will not be eligible to enter the event. In addition we are pleased to announce the entry fee for a single GB9 event has been reduced to just £120, a saving of £19. This applies to all 4 remaining events of the 2013 season. Please note that if you are planning to attend more than one event this season then it is still beneficial for you to become a full tour member as this will entitle you to gain ranking points and therefore event seeding, where appropriate. And don’t forget that if you have a friend who wants to play a GB9 event then by using our ‘Refer a Friend’ offer YOU will get a £20 discount off your annual fee or single event entry! Just tell them to state your name in the relevant box on the event entry form and we'll do the rest. (This offer is valid once per season, per player). ----------------- Andy Warden, GB9 - Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor √ [ This message was edited by: cueman on 2013-03-07 17:35 ]

We are pleased to announce that with immediate effect you can now enter your first GB 9 Ball Tour event without having to stay at the hotel venue. This applies to all players who have not entered a GB9 event in the past 3 years (before our move to hotel venues). With an entry fee of just £120 this is a great opportunity for you to try your hand at the professional 9 ball circuit. Everybody who plays our event says they are the most professional events they have ever played of any cue-sport discipline, so why not come and see for yourself? Don’t forget that if you have a friend who wants to play a GB9 event then by using our ‘Refer a Friend’ offer YOU will get a £20 discount off your annual fee or single event entry! Just tell them to state your name in the relevant box on the event entry form and we'll do the rest. (This offer is valid once per season, per player). You can find full details of the next event on 12-14 April and the entry form here----------------- Andy Warden, GB9 - Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor √

A bit of extra fun!
For only a £5 stake anyone watching the main event final can have a go at predicting the correct score, all winning guesses will split the pot with 100% of what i take going back out, this is for a bit of extra fun not for me to try and make money... I'll be bringing a form with me and once the finalists are decided anyone who fancies a flutter come and see me.... (Al Coton is barred from this)

If you extended that to all players, or reduce the hotel to maybe £30 each per night, i think you would fill the field, currently is £199 entry and hotel for a shared room, plus food and drink which would only barely be covered by getting to the QF in a 128 man field winning £250, which may be putting players off. On the hotel site you can book a twin for £55 per night for the wend before, so even if you split the difference to cover some costs and said 60-65 per night, you would be surprised at the difference that would make. Could hold a break and run competition. Do a raffle and say £1 a ticket, each person can buy as many tickets as they like. Money goes into a pot and the winning ticket gets a chance to break and run 1 rack. Let's say there was £900 in the pot, you would get £100 per ball in a rack of 9ball. If you miss you lose, however you can bank what you have made at any time during the rack. Could do 2 draws per event, any money left in the pot gets rolled over to the next draw. I went to a pool room in America that had had the pot up to $90,000, 10 grand a ball lol. Could be a good laugh on friday/Saturday evening and should get everyone involved

I totally understand the need to try and encourage new players but now that they dont need to stay in the hotel it is making it cheaper to play as a non member than as a member.
That imo is just not right. No incentive for signing up for the season now with firstly reduced entry fee for non members now no hotel restriction.
what is in it for the players who have supported the tour for years?

Not really as you can only use the option to not stay at the venue once, not for a whole season. It is in the interests of everyone, including those that have supported the tour for years, to have new players joining the tour. ----------------- Andy Warden, GB9 - Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor √ [ This message was edited by: cueman on 2013-03-19 17:00 ]

Awesome news. What if someone i.e Melling is already in the WPM and finishes in the top 4, does it roll down to 5th?
