Former Pro9'er James Akenhead has resumed his winning ways on the other "green baize" (albeit the virtual tables) and has nailed this weekend's Sunday Million online at PokerStars.com pocketing a cool $213,750 - now taking his 3 year career earnings in excess of a whopping £3 million! There's a lovely story here about James getting a huge slice of luck after "mis-clicking" on a raise to 800k with K10, but accidentally clicking 8million, only for the flop to land K-10-7, giving James a huge "double up" from which he never looked back. Congratulations James! You can sign-up to play at www.pokerstars.eu here. ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2012-01-24 09:54 ]

Just read that article. It may as well have been written in greek lol. For a non-poker player it's impossible to read without chuckling at all the jargon.

The Hit Squadee outlasted a 7,125 runner (player) field to bag his biggest online score (win) to date. As well as displaying all the skill and heart necessary to bag an online major (biggest weekly tournament online $1mil guarantee each week for $215 entry), Akenhead enjoyed a nice slice of luck on the final table. Intending to raise to 800,855 with his K10 (with blinds at 200k-400k he typed a raise in to 800,855), Akenhead misclicked to 8,000,855 (he typed in to many zeros and raised to 8 million instead of 800k) leaving just 1.5m behind (after raising to 8 mil he had only 1.5 mil left so had to call when Pnp went all in with QQ). Pnp23 looked him up with pocket queens but a K-10-7 (top 2 for James) flop game the Briton a huge double up. Akenhead didn't look back from there, eventually beating Pnp23 heads up (2 players left). With stacks roughly even, Aspirin1 (James online screen name) pushed with KJ (all in pre flop with king jack) with pnp23 making the call with pocket 8s. The 7-6-5 flop gave pnp23 an open ended straight draw (5678 means he needs 4 or 9 for a straight) to go with his overpair but a club on the turn gave Akenhead flush opportunities (James had KJ of clubs and now needs a club river for a flush) as well as overcards. The king on the river was one of those outs, giving the Londoner the title. [ This message was edited by: andystoke on 2012-01-24 11:33 ]
