Barry,
In response to questions raised above.
Members whom have not paid up (approx 25) will, if they wish to continue playing in the leagues need to bring their account u to date including the payment for the start of p2.
For those that don’t pay they will be removed as members, have their discount cards and offers withdrawn and any entitlement to prize monies voided. Should they wish to rejoin at a later date full membership will have to be taken out again and first months fees paid up front.
As for the person in Leicester Barry, well lets just say this, 1, he’s never gonna say that around me and 2, Rileys will take a dim view on players whom have the attitude that because they already have a discount card, they’re not bothered.
Because of these payment issues the prize fund has yet to be determined however with the changes I hope to bring in for p2, this will no longer be a consideration (more details on that in the members email).
P1 league tables and prizes will be updated and awarded by the start of p2.
As for the scoring system, I’ve had several pieces of feedback and I will address the alternatives in the members email.
I’m not sure where you heard there are only 4 players at 147 Barry, but that’s incorrect and have 5 new players to add to the list without the riley’s guys.
As for in house leagues, Rileys made a commitment to the GB9 Leagues to support and develop grass roots pool in its clubs. I’m sure Howard (Rileys) would back that statement up.
Simon,
I did not refuse to reply to your email, and we have spoken on several occasions re the Bournemouth issues.
But I will address publically the ones you’ve mentioned.
As for a player marking down a 17-0 win, if you check with Andy and John (Rileys) they’ll both tell you when I spoke with them, I made it clear it was irrelevant that the player was trying to claim this, as it is not a correct score. The player will only be awarded a default win, bye or maximum score result (10 points).
As for incorrect scores, I can only go by that which the club provide to me. However for p2 this will no longer be an issue. Managers will only have a simple online form to complete and all results will be updated near instantly. For the purpose of accuracy though the League table will be updated overnight on a Sunday each week, guaranteeing the latest results.
As for the no fixtures issue, bluntly, this is wrong, and I will address it directly with Andy and Howard.
As for no food – I believe this is now dealt with and again I will ask Howard to provide a response as to the discount cards. Please note though that this particular issue is not within my control, and has to be dealt with by Rileys.
As for communication, there are numerous avenues to get hold of me, and with respect Simon we have covered so much more verbally. In fairness GB9 Leagues is not a full time project for me as I originally intended and I have to balance it with another project which is also very time consuming. I try and answer as many emails as where possible within 48 hrs, although lately I accept this has been longer.
I hope the new software features that will be in place and a more informative website will enable better communication for all.
I am also thankful that you are at the Bournemouth club, and have a genuine desire to see American pool develop in your area. I accept there are and have been issues, however I maintain that these are just teething problems, we will with the updates keep making the Leagues stronger and stronger.
Regards
Tone

Tone, cheers for replying. No problems with anything you've said, thanks for bringing everyone up to speed. Glad to hear there are more players at Club 147. Can't remember who told me about but he said a few were dropping out. If there are enough players I'd like to play at Club 147 for p2. Thats fine Barry, i'll add you to the list at 147. Sorry Ben, but this is due to missing results and non payment.
Tone Hey Tone, Whats the score with the league payout for P1? If there are results missing or missed payments can the results not be asked for and if no payments are made then this person could be at risk of a placing if they are placed in top 2 in what ever divsion. If this is carried over then anyone who was in either one of the top spots for what ever division could be missing out if not placed in the P2, which I feel is a bit unfair. Anyone in the top 20 on the site as of today could be inline for some decent money if placed and if this is carried over could be a bit trash for them. escpecially for Ben, Aslam or Ryuji who are all top at the min. Can you advise on this please? Sorry if I have read something wrong...

Simon,
I did not refuse to reply to your email, and we have spoken on several occasions re the Bournemouth issues. Sorry "refuse" was prob the wrong word but i'm sure you can understand not replying to an email for 3 weeks that someone has taken time to write just looks bad on GB9 leagues behalf. Some of the things in the email were questions put to me by other players in the league. !!! QUOTE !!! When i say communication i mean in general to all members as well as responding to emails and calls etc. for instance a post was put on here on 17th May saying league would start on Sunday May 30th and there has been no communication until today 3 days after 30th now saying the league will not start until June 14th. This is just not good communication and will not put the league in good light and creates a very negative impression. We should have had at least a weeks notice that it would not be starting on 30th May. When planning these dates you need to be sure you can stick to them and if not at least give your self plenty of time so you can postpone before the date and not 3 days after. !!! QUOTE !!! Tone I understand these are teething problems and a big up to you for taking on this project this is not a personal attack on you its areas i feel the league needs improving to make it successful. Communication is one of the keys to success. One of the players in our league does not do email so i will print out your members email sent today and give him a copy and speak to the other players about where they want to go from here. Would be good to be able to give them answers to some of the questions above when i see them so we can make a decision about P2 Thank Tone Simon Clarke ----------------- Money won is twice as sweet as money earned [ This message was edited by: contrakid on 2010-06-01 22:10 ]

Hi tone,
Prize structure is not mentioned within the email. This is an issue for people i have spoken to about continuing into p2. Is it remaining as p1 or could a system be put into place that rewards success?

"prizes will be updated and awarded by the start of p2. can this be sorted before P2 starts as many players may be waiting to see how this works and how much money gets paid out before they decide whether to continue to play in P2." This will be sorted out by P2, which is in the next 13 days, as for how much depends on the final amount collected. "have seen a player do this more than once and want to see a breakdown of results also because some results are thought to be wrong as i said before." All managers will be asked to provide an overview of the 12 weeks results. once these are supplied this is the information which we will use. for practicalities sake i cannot verify every result. !!! Not straight away, the new system allows the manager to have an up to date record viewable to themselves and online at our website you will be able to see the national league table. I will ask our software guy though to break this down to club level. !!! QUOTE !!! Hi all
A quick update with regards to the new changes for period 2.
Period 2 will see the leagues run with a handicapped format, that is open to all but the top 16 on the main GB 9 Ball Tour and professional players from other cuesports as previously detailed. This will be for an initial trial period of 12 weeks.
Payout from P2 will also change, with the top 16 players receiving prizes.
A full explanation of all the changes will be sent via email to all members.
Once they have received this information i will update this post with that email on Monday 7th June.
Regards
Tone

GB9 Leagues will be suspended until further notice.
All members where asked to complete their registration by Saturday 12th, and even after speaking/emailing the majority of them, whom all agreed to do so, very few have.
I am not going to allow the same problems to repeat themselves in period 2.
Therefore the leagues will not commence today.
I will contact all the members via email tomorrow afternoon. Between now and then though i have some family business to attend to and will not be posting on this matter until i have contacted the members.
