Hi,
I'm just wondering whether people if there are any counterfeit cue balls going about? The reason I ask is, I have a 1 7/8" ball for English Pool and a 2 1/4" for American Pool. Both came on their own in official Aramith packaging and I've had one for 6 years and the other for 4. The 6 year old cue ball is seriously yellow and the 4 year old ball is as white as snow. I'm sure that the former wasn't true white when I took it out of the packaging but it was clearly brand new. Also, I've noticed that the cue ball that comes with the TV Balls as advertised on here isn't a true white either but has a slight golden colouring to it. Depending on what I decide to play after our Snooker season ends I may go ahead and replace cue balls and so I need to know what the score is! Somebody mentioned to me that the golden colouring represents a higher quality cue ball...
Cheers,
Phil

Try leaving the more yellow one exposed to the light and it will tend to go more white....... I'm assuming that the 1 7/8 ball has seen more use? I have a couple of genuine sets of pro cup and a set of Centennial TV and when not used for a long time they do seem a little more I guess you could say golden. ----------------- [ This message was edited by: PC on 2014-04-04 15:54 ]

That would make a lot of sense!
Yes, the 1 7/8" ball has probably seen more use and I've had it for 6 years. The thing is though, it's been in a drawer for years and hasn't seen much use until recently! I'll clean both balls and leave them by the window and see if they level out in colour!
