Hey BigDave I know that yourself & Andy try to get plenty of trade for the ProShop as it's part of your lively-hood, but it was mentioned quite some time ago that a Classified Section could be created, but nothing was done to sort this out and so I have a suggestion to try and get the ball rolling and to get a Classified section started Now, instead of all those BS evilbay fees, how about adding a Classifieds Section onto the forum for members to sell any used equipment they no longer want or need for a small fee? For example:- - Each time a member wishes to advertise any pool related items for sale, they PM or e-mail you the details including pics of the actual item(s) they are selling. - Members who wish to advertise items for sale, have to be fairly established members on the site, either having been a member for an X number of months or have X amount of posts on the forums. - You post up the thread for that member and stating at the top of the thread the username of the member selling the item(s) - A small fee of £3.00 for each time a member wishes to advertise item(s) for sale. - Any purchase arrangements are sorted out via PM between the seller & buyer(s) of the item(s) in question. - Buyer can post replies to the thread if to notify of their decision to alter their advertised asking price. - Any possible disputes are strictly left between the seller and buyer(s) A slightly random idea, but it would certainly be a help for players to sell on any unwanted equipment they have and it would also help players on a lower budget to get better quality equipment for that little bit cheaper, and at the same time it would be helping to bring a few extra £££'s towards the site's running costs and additions to products for the ProShop Let me know what your thoughts are on this BigD Willie ----------------- If ya got 'em, smoke 'em

I get £3???? Wooh... Headrush! Yes, I'm not surprised this would be popular. Less than eBay, and Big Dave loads the pictures for you too apparently? Bless!!! Well, first of all, I'm not certain that we wouldn't actually have a duty of care towards the buyer and seller if we were taking a commission... I think they would be within their rights to ask for a reasonable amount of service in return for their payment, and that would almost certainly provide us with big headaches, especially if all the slating and bickering that happens on other web sites that permit this sort of thing is anything to go by, and I don't have the time or the inclination to spend my day settling disputes. Look - I would love to be able to find a realistic way to do something like that... Just let people advertise for free somewhere, but it mustn't jeopardise The Pro Shop as it's one of the few significant revenue streams that this website is providing, along with advertising, and I think I've been able to do a favour for pretty much everyone I've ever met along the way, and it's those revenue streams that make that possible. Seriously - there is a big difference in the way that our web site is set up with a strong reliance on revenue from our shop, to other websites that barely survive, solely on a bit of advertising, a donation here and there, and a lot of goodwill from volunteers. I think our setup has enabled us to provide an attractive window to sponsors and fans, a useful website that is the envy of Europe. Sure, it could always be better, and we're always reviewing your needs and tailoring our offering as best we can, in an effort for continuous improvement. Frankly, I'd be delighted if anyone can show me a realistic way of doing this without cutting my own throat, and I would be happy to invest in a successful solution but please be aware that there are many people and shops out there with access to the same wholesalers and manufacturers as us who would not think twice about the ethics of setting up shop in our forums for little or no outlay, and benefit from the traffic generated by Pro9's 7 years of continuous growth. I'd be quite happy to sort it for free, but the solution must NOT impact on The Pro Shop for the previously stated reasons. ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2009-10-16 14:05 ]

If is a good idea but I like dave don't honk it could work as people would rather buy a second hand good condition cue than full quite expensive brand new. Post curtailed by Admin[ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2009-10-17 07:37 ]

Well, if AZ Billiards can do it, then I would like to think that it can be done here as well, ok it would take alot of time to work out how to go about it, but if it's going to make the site even more player friendly, then surely it's gotta be worth while Willie
