I've seen some players use the top line Aramith balls, but the 4/12 are purple instead of pink. Are there any of these sets floating about because I actually prefer purple to pink, plus I've heard that they are cheaper to buy.
Not fussed if there is a new set or if someone has a 2nd hand set they want to get rid of, but need something better than club trash.
Also a quick question - if Aramith and Brunswick Centennial balls are made to the same standard in the same factory, how can it be justifable to charge a lot more for the Brunswicks?

Hey, I have a set of Aramith Premier 2 1/4" Balls (Rotation) and yes the 4 and 12 Balls are indeed different in colour. What I did was buy a brand new set off of Ebay and then I bought a Pro Cup Cueball from Pro9 and it worked out pretty reasonable. I think I got them for £54.90 including postage so look out for that BIN offer as it was the cheapest when I looked. I got my full set of 16 balls for less than £70 I believe and as long as you look after the balls and give them a good clean once in a while you're laughing. Actually guys, the Super Aramith Pro balls are available to buy in the regular colours as well as the TV version, and they are mostly a little bit cheaper to buy  The only time you need to buy TV balls sets is for tournaments or matches that are being video recorded or live streamed/broadcast Other than that, the TV colours in the ball sets is nothing more than the same rack of balls but with alternative colouring in the set Check out the Aramith (Saluc) website for youselves and see Willie

Why pay a higher price for a set of pool balls that have a higher price just because 4, 7, 12 & 15 are slightly different colours?... when the regular colours sets are exactly the same quality and are every bit as good.
The regular colours for the SAP's are every bit as good for filming/live streaming pool tournament/ challenge matches, especially when you have a decent quality camcorder.
If there is good lighting over the table and around the table and that you have the camera set up high enough that you're getting a good view of the table that doesn't result in having any brightness glare from the cloth, (Depending on colour of cloth fitted on the designated match table) then it won't matter a difference if you're shooting with Regular or TV coloured ball sets.

The more expensive pack includes a TV cue ball i believe, which is more expensive. And talking about colors - they fade significantly if lights above the table are not so strong... That's why a TV set is preffered.

What a load of balls lol The TV colours will fade under strong lighting over time, just the same as regular colour sets will If the TV colours were better, then why is it that Aramith have chosen for their "Torunament" ball sets which are to an even higher quality standard than the SAP's, are only available to by in regular colours? If the TV colours were actually better, then do you not think that Aramith would have produced the "Tournament" ball sets in the TV Colours? Willie

If you check out the Saluc website, you'll be able to get info on them there, they're apparently made to an even higher standard than the SAP ball sets are.

Willie I'm going to respectfully disagree with that (the bit about regular colours being as good on TV) as before the TV edition colours were used in pro events, it would be difficult to distinguish between balls, such as the 4 and the 8, the 7 and the 3 ect. IMO people but the TV ball sets with the pink 4 and brown 7 because thats what most of the high end tournaments use these days, think thats the simple answer IMO
