I have seen a few 10 ball matches from America on YouTube and I can see they have a rule which is not used on the Eurotour. If you attempt to pot a ball and miss, your opponent has the choice of playing the shot or giving it back. On the Eurotour your opponent only has the choice to give the shot back if you pot a ball which you did not nominate. This certainly eliminates playing with safety in mind or getting lucky after missing a ball. Does anyone know if this is a rule the Americans have added, or is it just something the europeans choose not to use.

As far as i know it's just a rule that's added on to certain tournaments. The WPBA rules don't say anything about it either. I only play 10 ball and we always play to the eurotour rules.

Ok, cheers. I just think it is a strange way to play, as it promotes safety play as opposed to aggresive play. A player will no longer go for 50/50 shots knowing that he will leave his opponent snookered should he miss, as he will get the shot back! I hope that rule doesn't come to europe!!!
