Gotta say! Thanks! For all the threads guys! Top people!!!!! Also, I think you both, (Daz & Daz, lol) should be in the Mosconi! But...... Harsh.....I know!!!!! If I had to pick 1 only,...... No Mosconi would be complete without the current world 9ball champion! (assuming UK or US) Both of you good friends of mine and really want you both in! WC's 9ball & 10ball! WOW! Get em in Barry! Now that Mika won the US Open, it will be very hard to leave him out of Mosconi. The last spot will probably go to Darryl, since he is the reigning 9ball (Matchroom) champion. Unlucky for Darren, who has had a great year, and is a reigning 10ball champion - but thats a non Matchroom event.. Matchroom do what they please, they dont always use ranking as the most important criteria. A few years ago two swedes topped the ET ranking when the Mosconi team was decided. Ooops, time to change the rule, no more automatic spot for the leaders of the ranking, hehe. Two years ago Rugrat contacted Matchroom to find out why Norway was not included in the team event World Cup of Pool. The answer had nothing to do with performance: "We dont like Norway". So there you have it, in the end the Matchroom tournaments are invitationals and strange things can happen. [ This message was edited by: pooladdict on 2008-10-26 07:05 ]

The swedes were Tom Storm and the other one (I think it was) Niklas Bergendoff, both former european champions on several ocasions and Tom a runner up in WC 9-ball. They changed the rules cause Sweden is a minority regarding population & viewers. Tom & Niklas got an invitation to watch!! the other ones play, even though they had won their participations and that they had it in written. They both got angry (offc..), stopped to play the Eurotour and Tom started again this fall and cualifyed to last 32 in his first attempt and got 33 in the second. He is still too good to be staying at home playing with his schoolmates.. [ This message was edited by: Hasse on 2008-10-26 12:13 ]

I keep reading these posts regards the Mosconi cup team and that Matchroom will do what they want, but the EPBF have the criteria written in black and white.
Euro No 1 ranked player 3 players in top 16 Eurotour 1 player picked by Matchroom
Mark Gray gets his spot guaranteed, Ralph had been announced and Tony Drago has been Matchrooms pick.
So there are still two players to be selected from the current top 16 on the Eurotour.
I understood it would be the EPBF who would select these two, not matchroom, or else why would one of the criteria be '1 player picked by Matchroom'

Just wanted to say great match to Mika and a well deserved victory. Shot out of his mind at the start and was able to withstand the storm in the middle of the match to bring it all together at the end. Congatulations Mika!!!
