it seems like the filipinos are dominating the winner's bracket (parica, bustamante, alcano) and the loser's bracket (corteza & kiamco).

Hi RugRat , if i had to pick a winner i would go with Ronnie Alcano. He looked like he was practiscing when he beat Bustamante today. He has a monster break and was running racks for fun. I predicted he would beat Busty because i recently watched them play for hours in the Philipinnes where Alcano was torturing Busty at rotation set after set. I think he will be the next Efren Reyes and can see him dominating pool on a worlwide scale. His imagination and kicking skills are on Efrens level but he is more sharper, frightning hey.
Daryl had a bad day today watched him play a four hour marathon with Archer. Nearly fell of my seat a few times because was falling asleep when Archer was at the table. He would take ages to run out easy road maps getting up of his cue many times before executing his shot. Felt sorry for Daryl, seems like Archer put him in a coma, guess thats a part of his tactics. Daryls next match on losers side was a lot quicker going down to Kiamco 11-3. Daryl only had a five minute break after the marathon match with Archer and was some controversy at the beginning of the match. In a nutshell Daryl was docked a rack for conceeding a rack with his cue. Daryl touched the balls with his cue meaning that he had conceeded the rack because there was an unmissable combo on the 9 for Kiamco. He was penalised a rack for this which apparantely was in the tournament rules. The rule was mentioned in the players meeting but none of us Brits were there because we arrived late due to the Swiss Euro tour. Pretty harsh hey. The Maharaja

as for alcano i agree, i sat up the other night and watched him destroy svb. it was very impresssive.
unlucky daryl. although i would say the organizers should be querying their actions with regards the players meeting a i am aware the english boys arrived late, but the organizers were also found to have advertised the players meeting on the wrong day at a different time. leaflets to prove this are available.
unfortunate anyway, but a storng showing from the uk, all round
well done all.

So who's gonna be in the Mosconi eh?!

Hi guys, I aint been posting on here because i wanted to keep my focus on the event....i really fancied doing something at this event, but wasnt to be i guess! Maharaja has summed the day up for me really.....4 n half hour coma/trance against Archer. He really took the michael...i complained to the ref twice-his reaction was "i'll keep an eye on it" (which he didnt!) Then had to go virtually straight on against Kiamco. Got docked a rack for conceding an unmissable 9ball (Kiamco went and told the ref that i gave him the rack so that the ref would deduct a rack off me!....nice sportsmanship hey?) Then he snapped a 9 off the break and ran 3 racks too. So the score after 10minutes was 5 to minus1 (i now had to race to 12!!!) Ended up losin 11-3 but the match was a farce from the off. Anyway, still a good finish for myself. I just wanna say that all the brits stuck together this week...which is how it should be. Reaaly enjoyed the week here! Roll on Mosconi Cup....Mark already in, and either Darren or myself should get a place.....cant see us both getting in though....shame really, cos i think we both deserve it. Well done to ALL the brits for comin here and havin a go.....some great performances.....Raj, Imran, Steve, Phil, Lee, Darren, Chris, Scott, Daryl lol, .....hope i aint missed anyone out. -----------------

Just wana say unlucky dazzler, but lets not take naything away it was yet another solid performance from you in another tough competition. Wish I could have stayed to watch but had to go as I have been away long enough.
Just wana say the last couple of weeks have been absolutely fantastic seeing alot of old friends and supporting each other to a certain extent. Now i can really see why the brits are doing so well, its because inside there is a certain rivalry amongst them but at the same time there is support. It is hard to find a balance of the two at times it seems but can honestly say it is probably better like this as it seems to get the best out of each other.
I have to say that dazzler, Dyno and Boyzi and of course the maharajah!( try not to bet with him tho as he always wants the edge!!!)..4 great players all with different mindset and approach, can see them doing really good for good of the game in UK. Many others too like Mark, jonesy, Ossie etc etc....
Also like to mention Phi Burford, I met him for the 1st time this trip and what a great lad, I like to wish him well and keep up the good work. i must say being around the lads really has wana make me come back Uk as to be honest I have it way to easy here in Hong Kong.
I hope that all the boys continue the good work and I wish them all well....hope to see you all soon again somewhere..... carry on the great work UK.....

well said guys and good tournament daryl.. bobby great to see you again pal you are a charactor but your only human pal think we all will leave here feeling we could have done better but thats pool.. its been a tough schedule last month or so...i know am certainly looking forward to a week of and am sure imran, daryl are etc for me its been a better week of the table put myself about more than usual and managed to get some work for future which is good... the tournament been very well run this time and looking forward to watching the finals later..for the evening session matches the crowds have been great and really makes u feel like playing pool..just a shame every tournament not like this hey... last note on mosconi in my opinion if two or three brits or any other country for that matter, have earned the spots then they should get picked and am sure matchroom will not punish players because from same country..i know in past the team as had ortman, suquet, engert, in same team..sometimes 2 or 3 dutch players.. 2 brits before.. so dont see a real problem.. but i know it will be headace for matchroom to pick the 2 spots remaining..lol but am sure whatever the team europe will bring it home.. and thanks again to everyone on pro9 for support for us appreciate it.. Good effort guys, you did British pool proud again.
Really appreciate the reports from the inside. Don't know many other sports where the stars of the game would bother to do it.
