Hi everybody

This is my first question(s) :-):

Since I never saw a 10Ball game and I like 2 try it with friends I wonder how the rack looks like. Suppose the #1 is still in front?

Are there any differences of rules compared 2 9Ball?

Will here be a new forum for 10Ball and/or 14/1 endless?

Nice game of any que sport 8-)
Bernhard

Looks like this :

.10 ball rack

Basically 1 ball at the front, 10 ball in the middle, all other balls are placed randomly.

I'm not sure thats right pooljedi, i was under the impression that the rules were the same as 9 ball, i.e. break behind the line, and jump cues allowed. Thats the way the last tournament was played at Mickey Flynns as well.

Where did you get that from pooljedi?

The only difference I've heard is that there is no 3 foul rule though we did play normal 9 ball rules including 3 foul rule at Mickeys.

Anyone got a link to the official rules?

Actually, the complete 10-Ball rules are harder to find that the other games, (probably because they are virtually identical to 9-Ball) but if anyone finds a nice set of rules that I can use please point me in the right direction!

And yes, I guess 10-Ball SHOULD have it's own section in the forums - I'll sort that when I get back from London!

^^^ Big Dave.

I'll take that fiver!

I think the rules are whatever you want them to be within the bounds of general world standardized rules and 9 ball rules. Tournament directors have discretion to vary certain aspects of the rules on a per tournament basis, break box being one of them. So my bet is that you will not find 'Official rules to 10 ball' and even if you do they will not specify 'break box'.

You cannot combo the 10-ball like in 9-ball also in 10-ball rules.

So have you seen an official set of rules confirming that or are you just saying that because you played in a tournament where the organiser announced that rule? Not being funny just trying to separate rumour and hear say from official rules.

That's what the UPA play, seeing as they are the only organisation to hold a professionally sanctioned 10-ball tourney (from my knowledge) I will go along with them.

Just because someone starts a 10 ball event and sets some rules (possibly using tournament directors discretion as it their right) doesn't make them official rules. Just think we should make that clear to anyone reading.

same rules as 9 ball, break anywhere behind head string, measured at bottom of cue ball so if it is dead on the line it is legal, contact lowest number ball first and pot any ball including 10 , any illegally potted balls are spotted, p s i have rule book
