!!! QUOTE !!! Unfortunately the first result in the last 18 is:
David Alcaide 8 Karl Boyes 2
bet that raised a few eye brows!! Don't know why you were surprised crashnburn, David had already beaten great players Mick Hill, Darren Appleton, Rodney Morris, Sandor Tot, Neils Feijen, Alex Lely previously and his beating of Bustamante was the highlight for him of a succesful week in Reno. This was not a match to bet on. Well done to all the Brits who took part in this tournament. [ This message was edited by: malaguista on 2006-09-09 08:19 ]

Hill v Reyes and Boyes v Busta helped save the day for me betting wise. Engert beating Pagu helped too.
You gotta say that Boyes and Hill had awesome tournaments finishing 8th and 9th respectively - narrowly beating Daz's 10th place in Vegas. One of these 3 is sure to win a tournament soon.
I agree Peter - David was disappointing in Vegas and cost me a lot of money but he definately made up for it here! Great performance in the really big matches and a creditable 13th place.

From looking at thyis event and the previous event the amount of players who are reaching the final stages each time is very small......surely the best two players at this game at the moment have to be Reyes and Orcullo.....top 6 twice is quite an achievement. ----------------- [ This message was edited by: PC on 2006-09-09 10:42 ]

I do agree PC.it's tough to be on the last six again with the amount of talented players on all cue discipline playing against each other for more than eight gruelling hours everyday.i do hope reyes will win coz his planning to retire if he wins this tournament.(joke only)he's thinking to do that when i last talk to him.im sure he's not going to do that.

Malaguista all i was saying was alot of betting would have gone on Karl no disrespect to David but with Karl playing so well i was just surprised at the scoreline thats all and most players other here would have expected it to be tight match but with all due what a tournament both of them had!!! I know what you are saying crashnburn (don't know your real name!!)
I have known David for seventeen years when he was winning American Eightball tournaments at ten years of age, I think that he was born with a cue in his hand so I wasn't at all surprised at the result. It could equally have been 8-2 to Karl, at this level you have to break and run or you are dead. I had never heard of Karl Boyes until this year when I saw him play in the BCA tournament in Vegas last May it was obvious then that he is a great player with a future and he has certainly proved it with his performance in the IPT.

Yeh Shooter thanks for reminding me. Wasn't intending any disrespect to Daryl but was referring to the fact Karl & Mick are big mates of Daz's so maybe there's a bit of friendly rivalry going on.

According to Stan James, its 21:00, so malaguista is right. Tempting for 11/10 for Morris.... I also noticed a handicap book with even money for +1.5 Reyes? Why one and a half racks of a start? Surely its either one or two...

the handicap line must incorporate a half to differentiate the score in an event of a tie....... so for example, if you bet on Efren +1.5 and the final score is 8-7 to Morris then your bet on Reyes in the handicap will win because it become 8 to Morris and 8.5 to Reyes (7 + 1.5 racks). Thats the reason you have to set half a rack, because if you bet on Reyes with only +1 rack start and the final score was 8-7 to Morris then your bet of +1 rack means the score ends up 8-8. Therfore your Bet on Reyes will become a loser or a dead heat. Its the same with football, so for example over and under 2.5 goals. Do you think there will be more than 2.5 goals in a particular football game or less than 2.5 goals. Now we all know, we cant have half a goal in football game so if the match has only 2 goals then your bet on under 2.5 is a winner but if there was 3 goals then your bet on under 2.5 is a loser. simple as that.
