Well, just saw Tom's match and am wishing I'd missed it! I think that demonstrates perfectly why he hasn't won a lot more tournaments. He's just like Tony Drago- awesome to watch when he's flowing but a train wreck on his off-days! He's a staggering natural talent but he had several chances to win that match 5-0 and then the miscue on the break and a couple of unbelievable rolls turned it all around (hooking Tom on all balls on the table after that miss at 3-3 and the final break where a ball was kicked in at the very last second). What an awful result (at least from my perspective it is)!

Rant over!
Thanks,
Chris.

The first two racks he was brilliant though - never looked like missing! Does he always play that fast Chris? I don't think I've seen too much of Tom playing.

Hello BigDave,
Yes that was a pretty typical speed for Tom really! He's not quite a Drago or Salvas but he's pretty close at times!
The moment that I knew it was going to go wrong was when he chose to take on a really long shot with ball in hand and then missed it. I couldn't understand why he didn't shorten that shot up a bit!
Tom's still the 3rd most successful player ever in the history of the Eurotour after Ralf Souquet and Oliver Ortmann I believe and he's won all of the EPC events at least once each with plenty of other medal finishes too.

I hope he gets a good draw as he may well not top his group now after that result I suppose.

Thanks again,
Chris.
