Hmm to me I'd say nothing better than Rotterdam or Singapore... But the people can make a big difference! At least that's what did it in Brandenburg..

Looks like a British invasion of Norway!
Imran Majid and Raj Hundal signed up today, and Imran thought that maybe Tony Drago and Rico Diks would register too.
Anyone else coming?

Since there is a major interest for joining the Special 9-ball Event on Thursday evening during the 8-ball Battle of Scandinavia, I have, together with the 8 already registered players, decided to open it up for 16 players.
The entry fee to join this 9-ball event will be 500 €, and all entries will return in price money. The winner of the event will receive 6 000 €, runner up will get 1 000 € and the losing semi-finalists will both get 500 € each.
Format will be 9-ball race to 9, alternate break. All players are guaranteed 2 matches. Round 1 will start Wednesday evening, and the rest of the play will continue Thursday evening.
If you would like one of the empty spots, please apply by sending me an email and you will be considered.
The 8 players by now are:
Niels Feijen, The Netherlands Kim Garmark, Norway Phil Stojanovic, Croatia Kevin Becker, Germany Darren Appleton, England Vincent Faquet, France Lee Chenman, China Nick van den Berg, The Netherlands
As you know there will be a lot of mini-tournaments during the week, and I have also got requests about money games, and if I can organize those. I will not do the organizing of money games, but I can help players who want to play in planned high-stake matches an opportunity to get in touch before they arrive Oslo. So if anyone of you has this desire, please send me an email.

Haven't decided all of them yet, but 4 are definitely taken. Send me an email, we will decide the last 4 before Friday. Btw: Have had problems with the website, and unable to update. Will be fixed tomorrow. During Wed - Fri there will be minimum 25 mini-tournaments at the evenings, plus some minis on Tuesday and Saturday too. If you then add the losers tournament for those who do not qualify from the groups (winner gets money + entryfee covered for Eurotour in February), the handicap 9-ball event on Sunday (winner gets minimum 750 € + entryfee on Eurotour February covered + a couple of ringgames at nights, I think it could be smart to bring an extra shaft and tip in case you play too much

Copied from Az Billiards..Roy's own post.. (23-11-2006) Just to remind everybody what coming up in 2 weeks! Program for the “Pool Festival” in Oslo, January 15th to 21st 2007
We guarantee loads of pool, the possibility of studying and playing some of the best pool players in the world, mini-tournaments, action games, trick-shot show, straight pool challenge, and a week with a lot of good stuff happening, on and off the table. The main-attraction is of course “The 8-ball Battle of Scandinavia”
Venue will be ElbowRoom, maybe the nicest pool hall in the World, according to top-players as Mika Immonen, Niels Feijen, Oliver Ortmann and Tony Drago! www.elbowroom.no
Monday 15th we will have our normal Monday night handicapped 14-1 tournament. Start: 6.30 P.M.
Tuesday 16th at 6 P.M. we will arrange a qualification tournament for the Grand Master 8-ball 2007 in Manchester, England, 16th – 18th of February. The winner earns a spot in the tournament which have a maximum of 32 players and total premiums of GBP 16.000 or around EUR 25.000 if a full field.
In daytime there will most likely be the “Oslo School-Championship” in 8-ball for the Girls division and the Boys division.
Wednesday 17th to Saturday 20th we arrange The 8-ball Battle of Scandinavia in Elbowroom, Oslo, starting 12 P.M. The tournament can very well be the largest and most successful open 8-ball tournament ever; High price money, live view on Internet of more than 30 matches, many of the best pool players in the world playing, mini-tournaments and action every night! The entry fee is EUR 150 and we are playing a round robin format with many players in each group, so you are guaranteed many matches and almost certainly at least one match against a world class player. Remember to register early and not later than Sunday 14th of January at 4 P.M. local time. The draw will be available a few hours later.
The whole night there will be ring-games and mini-tournaments in 9-ball and 8-ball.
Thursday 18th at 7 P.M. we are arranging the Special Event, 8 players are battling for the EUR 4.000 winner takes all first price! You don’t want to miss this, the players in this event are:
Niels Feijen, The Netherlands Kim Garmark, Norway Phil Stojanovic, Croatia Kevin Becker, Germany Vincent Facquet, France Lee Chenman, China Nick van den Berg, The Netherlands Darren Appleton, England
After the Special Event there will of course be action games and mini-tournaments in 8-ball and 10-ball all night!
Friday 19th we play the first round in the single elimination of the last 64. At 10 P.M. there will be a trick-shot show. After the show there will ring-games and mini-tournaments in 7-ball and 10-ball!
Saturday 20th at 8 P.M. is the final in The 8-ball Battle of Scandinavia! This match and at least 30 other matches will be broadcasted live on internet through our partner Betandwin, at www.bwin.com. After the final there will be live-music and party to celebrate the winner, but for those who would like to shot some balls after the celebration there will of course be some mini-tournaments in 9-ball this night too.
Sunday 21st from 11 A.M. we will arrange a handicap tournament in 9-ball, race to 5, HC from 0 to 3, alternate breaks. Maximum 64 players, 30 € entry fee, 1200 € first price.
The whole week we will have a straight pool competition, where you pay a small amount of NOK 20, appr 2,5 Euro per try - for the highest break. Winner takes all.
If you want to participate in parts of or the whole Pool Festival in Oslo in January, either as a spectator or as a player, then start planning your trip now. There are other happenings in Oslo at the same time, so to ensure yourself a reasonable price in the city of Oslo, it can be smart to make your hotel and flight reservations as soon as possible. Try www.visitoslo.com for an overview of hotels.
To register for the main tournament and meet players from The Philippines, China, U.S.A. and many of the European countries, you can sign up at www.biljardsport.com, the homepage of the tournament.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you want to contribute in some way organizing the festival, or if you have any ideas on how to make the “Pool Festival” even better!
See you in Oslo for a memorable experience, and a great kick-off for the rest of the 2007 season!
Yours truly ElbowRoom Roy Steffensen Phone: 0047 47 30 00 43 E-mail: roy@elbowroom.no www.elbowroom.no

So Roy, does 'register' mean enter and pay your entry fee. I've already done this so am I registered or do I need to do something else? Also, do we need some cash euros for the mini tournaments or will all entries be in NOK? [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2007-01-04 12:19 ]

Just a note on the above post, the Grand Masters in Manchester is on 10th, 11th and 12th of March and not the dates shown in the AZ Billiards post above, also this event is full with a 32 field and 6 names on the reserve list, the reserve list includes, Mika Immonen, Marcus Chamat, and Oliver Ortmannn.
