They will face the West Team of lady World Champions Jasmin Ouschan of Austria, America's Vivian Villarreal and England's Kelly Fisher the captain. One more member of the Asia Team will be announced as well as the Euro-USA Team. The East vs West ultimate team showdown between the world’s greatest lady professional billiards players will take place at Resorts World in Manila, Philippines on November 5th-7th, 2013 . The Queens Cup will be played on MIN Table of Korea with Andy Cloth as the Official Cloth to be used during all televised matches. Official Team Clothing by Focused Apparel. OB Cues is the Official Cue of the JBET.com Queens Cup which is co-sponsored by www.SabongKing.com. The Queens Cup is produced by Dragon Promotions and filmed by ABS-CBN Sports and will be live aired in over a dozen countries in five continents. The JBET.com Queens Cup will also air internationally for free on www.insidepool.tv "I feel so honored that I have been chosen to play in the Queens Cup and represent Asia. The Queens Cup will test the players skills and stability like never before, while also making the audience feel excited and having fun watching it. I'm happy I'm in. Thank you God", said Tsai after receiving the invite to represent on Team Asia. "Making this team is basically saying you're recognized as the best of the best. You are playing for your entire continent and your country. Penny Tsai has proven time and again the past years she is a real champion, and has a rock solid game. Nobody is liking it when they draw her in a tournament", said Charlie Williams, creator of the Queens Cup. Beautiful and deadly . Tsai is a perfect combination of an Asian women's professional pool player Penny Tsai has numerous credentials to her credit including winning the China Open and has many titles in Taiwan, long revered as perhaps the toughest country for women's pool. Tsai came close to her first World Championship win but felt short in 2011 for the silver to UK's Kelly Fisher, who is also her good friend. This year at the Queens Cup, friendship will be put aside as Tsai will have a chance for revenge against Captain Kelly and the West. The JBET.com Queens Cup is predicted to be another Dragon Promotions hit with this star studded world class event, this time spotlighting women's pool www.facebook.com/thequeenscup The Queens Cup will showcase the rivalry between the Asians and their western counterparts in Europe and USA, much similar to the Ryder Cup in golf or Davis Cup in tennis. The absolute best ladies from their respective countries and continents will be selected for the teams. The event will last 3 days in a 10-Ball format that will race to the first team reaching 10 matches for the win. Style of play will include singles, doubles, triples, and 4-on-4. Captains will be put to the test to create the best strategy in partnerships and chemistry of match-ups. If the matches go 9 to 9 hill hill, a final 4-on-4 play will create the dramatic conclusion. The JBET.com Queens Cup will play all its matches on the feature MIN TV table with Andy Cloth as the surface used for this monumental competition. Indian Snooker Stars Admit NervesIndia's snooker duo Aditya Mehta and Pankaj Advani admit they will suffer from nerves when they play in front of their own fans at the Indian Open next week. The event in New Delhi from October 14 to 18 will be the first world ranking tournament ever staged in India, and the country's two professional players will face a weight of expectation. "I will be nervous and the first frame will be important because I will need to settle into the match quickly, especially as it's only best of seven," said Mehta, who faces Peter Ebdon in his first match at the Meridien Hotel. "Peter is a former World Champion and he will be a very tough opponent. I won't feel pressure from the crowd because the only expectation comes from myself. It's an important tournament for me and I know I'm capable of winning matches. "It will be the first time my parents have watched me play a professional match so it will be a special occasion for all of us." Mehta underlined his potential earlier this month when he beat world number eight Ricky Walden 6-2 to qualify for the final stages of the International Championship. "That was the biggest win of my career so far because Ricky is a top-eight player and I played well and beat him comfortably," added the 28-year-old from Maharashtra. "It's important to do well in the big tournaments as it helps me to climb the rankings. I haven't climbed as quickly as I would have liked, but I am focussed and taking it one step at a time. "My form overall has been good this season, I had a good run in the Paul Hunter Classic to the last 16 and won the gold medal at the World Games. So I have some momentum to take to India and hopefully I can keep it going." Advani agrees with his close friend that playing in the Indian Open for the first time will rank among his career highlights. "It's extremely exciting. I will have a lot of friends and well-wishers there so I will have a few butterflies, but I have been playing professional snooker for over a year now so I know how to keep myself calm," said Advani. "I have experience of playing in big matches having competed in several World Billiards finals. But this will be a different and unique occasion." Pune's 28-year-old Advani will be up against Scotland's Marcus Campbell in his opening match and added: "I have never played Marcus before but I know what a seasoned professional he is. We are both tactical players so I'm sure it will be a really good battle. "I have been happy about my game this season and I have been winning matches so I am going to Delhi with confidence." The £300,000 tournament will see 64 professional players bidding for the title, including the likes of John Higgins, Mark Selby, Neil Robertson and Ding Junhui.

Olybet Baltic Pool League 2013 finished the qualifying rounds in KaunasThe final qualifying round of the Olybet Baltic Pool League 2013 was held in Kaunas, Lithuania. The nice venue was provided by the ENTRY pool club and the game was 8 ball. Young gun makes his presents felt in men's divisionMen division provided a real shock when the stage was won by only 16-years old Pijus Labutis. The young Lithuanian had a really successful tournament by beating many good players. Among others in his semi final Labutis comfortably won the first stage winner Vadim Papiz from Belorus by a score 7:2 and progressed to the final to meet his countryman Henrikas Strolis (Team Olybet). Maybe at the beginning little bit underestimating his opponent Strolis had to admit the certain win by Labutis by a score 7:4. Another third place went to Estonian Denis Grabe (Team Olybet) who lost to the runner up with a score 7:3. After all these happenings the winner of the qualifying rounds is Denis Grabe, second is Vadim Papiz and there are two players, Henrikas Strolis and Latvian Peteris Ermansons (Team Olybet), that finished on the same points giving third place by games won percentage to Strolis. Souvenir leader finally beaten In the women's division was a big surprise when Terhi Valtanen from Finland beat in the semi final long time souvenir ruler of the women's division Margarita Fefilova from Belorus. The Finn won the semi final thriller by a score 6:5 and advanced to the final. Obviously from the previous nerve-wracking semi final she just did not had the needed fuel in her to continue good game in the final as she was beaten by Agné Jaruśauskaite from Lithuania by a score 6:2. Jaruśauskaite played her semi final very well as well when she won over Anna Prisjaźnuka from Latvia with a score 6:1. Although finishing third, and not reaching the final for the first time this season, Margarita Fefilova still remains after the qualifying rounds number one in the overall ranking with Agné Jaruśauskaite and Anna Prisjaźnuka firmly on her heels. This event had total number of 75 participants from Belorus, England, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Norway. Olybet Baltic Pool League organisers thank Olybet, Entry Pool Club, Aveiras, Strachan, Mezz Cues, Biljardai, Baribal Poolclub, Boombapwear, Kamui Tips, Insidepoolmag, AZ Billiards, Pro9 and all other sponsors and volunteers that helped to organise another great event. The final event is held in Tallinn, Estonia, on the 16.11.2013.

China's Siming Chen Completes Team East! Miracle Slots Sponsors JBET.com Queens CupChina Open Champion and many times national champion in Taiwan, Penny Tsai is easily one of the best in Asia Manila, Philippines - China, Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines will form Team Asia in this year's JBET.com Queens Cup! Former World #1 Siming Chen of Shanghai, China has been selected as the final piece of the team representing the East. The World 10-Ball Championship silver medalist finalizes the elite Asian squad as Chen joins fellow powerhouses Rubilen Amit of the Philippines, Pei Chen Tsai of Taiwan, and Captain Ga Young Kim of South Korea. They will face the West Team of lady World Champions Jasmin Ouschan of Austria, America's Vivian Villarreal and England's Kelly Fisher the captain. One more member the Euro-USA Team will be announced for Team West. The Queens Cup is produced by Dragon Promotions and filmed by ABS-CBN Sports and will be live aired in over a dozen countries in five continents. The JBET.com Queens Cup will also air internationally for free on www.insidepool.tv The 19 year old Siming became a overnight sensation when she won the star studded China Open where she defeated none other than former World Champion Allison Fisher of England in the finals. She then went on to dominate the Philippines Open and came a hair short of her first World Championship Gold when she fell to Ga Young Kim of Korea, who will now join her as a teammate. Many players and experts in the world believe she has the most similar style to a men's pro game, and many predict she will be an eventual World Champion. Her joining the squad makes Team Asia an ultimate foe that some Asian fans feel to be invincible. "It is an honor to be chosen for Team Asia. I think the Queens Cup brings more responsibility to me instead of pressure. Although it's a team effort, I will do my best to win every match. I'm also very glad we are playing 10-Ball which is more skillful", said Chen. "Siming has the most vibrant personality of all the Chinese players. It's fitting that most of the world looks upon her as the best in China. Even at only 19 years old, she has a lot of experience and will be one of the anchors for sure", said Cindy Lee, CEO of Dragon Promotions. Siming Chen's youth and fire will keep the usually stoic Asians more animated and spirited during the Queens Cup The JBET.com Queens Cup is predicted to be another Dragon Promotions hit with this star studded world class event, this time spotlighting women's pool www.facebook.com/thequeenscup The Queens Cup will showcase the rivalry between the Asians and their western counterparts in Europe and USA, much similar to the Ryder Cup in golf or Davis Cup in tennis. International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) and World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) announce Global Integrity Partnership The International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA), the international governing body for professional snooker and English billiards. The global integrity partnership, announced at The Indian Open in New Delhi, will see the ICSS and WPBSA work together to protect and enhance the integrity of professional snooker. It will include specific areas of activity and collaboration, including integrity training and education, monitoring of international betting on Snooker, investigation advice and support, and intelligence gathering, that will take advantage of the ICSS global source network. This initiative has been developed in order to enhance monitoring and detection mechanisms of international snooker and will safeguard the WPBSA’s position as one of the world's leading sports in anti-corruption strategies. Mohammed Hanzab, President of the ICSS, said: “On behalf of the ICSS, I would like to thank the WPBSA who have already shown their commitment to safeguarding the integrity of sport. “Whilst many acknowledge the challenges the sports industry faces, the development of comprehensive integrity programmes not only shows strong leadership, openness and transparency but the determination to eradicate behaviour that threatens the very foundation of sport and its core values.” Chris Eaton, Director of Sport Integrity at the ICSS, said: “This landmark partnership clearly demonstrates to all stakeholders that the integrity of the sport is of the utmost priority for the WPBSA. “It is crucial that sport governing bodies show proactive leadership in this area and I look forward to working with the WPBSA to develop new programmes that build on the work already being carried out by Jason Ferguson and his team.” Jason Ferguson, Chairman of the WPBSA, said: “We are proud to carry the global weight of the ICSS network within our sport. This new agreement with the ICSS demonstrates the WPBSA's commitment to integrity and our message to those who think about fixing matches is clear. We are watching, we will identify it, we will investigate, it has no place in our sport. “At the WPBSA, we have already introduced a number of measures to safeguard the integrity of snooker, and we believe our global integrity partnership with the ICSS represents the next important step in the development of the WPBSA’s integrity strategy. I look forward to working with the ICSS’ Integrity team to implement the first ever programme of betting monitoring on international snooker, and also to capitalise on the unique expertise and capabilities the ICSS offers in the field of integrity.”

Presents the First Ever American Rotation National Championship! The American Billiard Club Association is off the ground and looking good, especially good for the 8 players that qualified for what undoubtedly could be a special piece of pocket billiard history – the first ever American Rotation National Championship. 64 players across the country laid the groundwork by playing 7 matches at their own local billiard rooms over a 7 week period. Week 8 of this national event was a 1 day regional event where players in each region attempted to earn a spot in their National Championship. All players who qualified were guaranteed a minimum of $1,000 each upon arrival, which ensured they would not lose money while traveling to their National Championship. This first championship was hosted by Diamond Billiards in Midlothian, VA and had players from: Oklahoma – Gordy Vanderveer, Jamaica Joe’s, Midwest City. North Carolina – Scott Johnson, Gate City Billiards, Greensboro. New England region – Joe Dupuis, Snookers Billiards, RI & Joe Tucker, Amazin Billiards, MA. Florida – Adam Wheeler, Cue Phoria, Winter Park & James Roberts, Stroker’s, Palm Harbor. Alabama – Robert Hall, Bumpers, Huntsville & David Rowell, Bumpers, Hoover. The 8 player championship called for two groups of 4 players competing in a round robin format. The top 2 players from each group were then seeded into single elimination brackets where matches would be increased from 125 points to 150 points. The final 4 turned out to be a New England vs Florida battle (Think Sox, Rays) #1 seed James Roberts vs. the #4 seed Joe Tucker and #3 seed Adam Wheeler playing the #2 seed Joe Dupuis. James Roberts who appeared by general consensus to be playing the best pool of the day had at least two 15 ball break and run outs while defeating Tucker 150-118, moving one Floridian into the finals. On the streaming table were Adam Wheeler and Joe Dupuis in a fast and well played match that kept the regional battle alive with Dupuis prevailing by a score of 150-115. Most American Rotation matches to 150 points take about 2 hours on average. Here with everything on the line and a chance to become the first ever National Champion you might expect the pace to slow just a bit, but NOT the case with Joe Dupuis in the finals. As he did all day, he came out with his usual fast and loose style that entertained the crowd and occasionally brings some additional heat. The final match took 1hour and 15 minutes, one of the fastest of the day, with Joe Dupuis becoming the game’s first National Champion by the score of 150-95. Joe Dupuis won the title of first ever American Rotation National Champion, a commemorative custom case by John Barton Cases and a nice check for $3,000. Our Runner up, James Roberts, received a check for $2,000. Adam Wheeler and Joe Tucker won $1,500 each for 3rd and 4th (Joe is donating a portion of his winnings to session II fees for 8 last place players of session 1 as a reward for these players stepping up and showing some heart in an effort to improve their own game and support our sport). Gordy Vanderveer, Scott Johnson, Robert Hall & David Rowell won $1,000 each. The American Billiard Club Association (ABCA) must be doing something right, because all who competed in the first national event have nothing but good things to say. Even the players that didn’t qualify for the nationals are praising the format, which aims to solve the problem of player expenses, and the game, which aims to improve American players. ABCA Championship Series II will begin the week of October 28th. Week 8 regional events will be held across the nation in December, and National Championship II will be held in conjunction with the 2014 Derby City Classic in January. The ABCA plans to hold their national championships close in time and proximity to other national events. This helps players save on expenses, if they choose to attend such events, and helps promoters get more entrants to their events. As this article is being written, Joe Dupuis is at the U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship also in VA, something that might not have happened, had he not qualified for the ABCA national event. American players and club owners are encouraged to contact Joe Tucker at 508-840-6133 or jttenball@gmail.com ASAP. It just takes 8 players with a little desire to make your club one of 64 nationwide that will help our sport present one legitimate and self sustaining format that we can all be proud of! DAVIS AND MURPHY COMPLETE STAR-STUDDED 888CASINO CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS LINE-UPMark Davis has earned the final place in the 888casino Champion of Champions as the highest-ranked player not to have already qualified following the conclusion of the Indian Open, won by Ding Junhui. Ding beat Aditya Mehta 5-0 in Friday's final but as PTC Grand Finals winner the Chinese star had already secured his place in snooker's prestigious new big-money event. That meant the entry reserved for the Indian Open winner was awarded to the highest player on World Snooker's Ranking List who had not yet booked his place at Coventry's Ricoh Arena - Mark Davis. Davis has shown the best form of his career over the past two years and has climbed to number 13 in the world. He will be joined at the 888casino Champion of Champions by Shaun Murphy, who gained his place by the same criteria after the Bank of Communications Shanghai Masters, also won by Ding. Murphy takes his place in Group B and will face Mark Selby, while John Higgins is up against Stephen Maguire. Davis joins Group A and will have to overcome Rocket Ronnie O'Sullivan if he is to make it to the group final. Ding and Barry Hawkins will contest the other Group A match. Matchroom Sport Chairman Barry Hearn said: "Mark and Shaun have earned their place in the line-up through consistently performing to a very high standard and it means we have the top ten in the World Rankings all taking part. I'm excited about this event because it brings together the elite of the sport - the people of Coventry are in for a treat." The tournament features 16 of the world's top players - including Ronnie O'Sullivan, Judd Trump and Neil Robertson - all vying to be crowned the 'Champion of Champions'. The event has a £270,000 prize-fund with £100,000 going to the winner, and will be broadcast live throughout on ITV4. OPEN GLORY FOR LEESERicky Leese was crowned Newport Open champion, Ant Heathcote and Darren Pountney claimed the doubles title and Kim Rigby managed to win her first ladies title after an enthralling night at the Newport Legion. Ricky Leese was victorious in the singles Open final as he beat Colin Pink in the deciding frame. Pink went 1-0 up after a brief tactical battle, the Hinstock player bided his time and didn't waste his opportunity when his chance came to clear. Leese levelled the match after Pink handed him two shots. The Drayton man used the visits to his full advantage taking out an excellent finish. Frame 3 saw both players miss opportunities to clear, however it was Pink who eventually took his chance with a neat four ball finish to go within a frame of his third title. Pink once again handed Leese two shots which enabled the Market Drayton Open champion to level the match with a simple enough clearance. A clever snooker in the deciding frame allowed Leese to gain the two shots he needed to seal the Newport and Market Drayton double and deny Pink his third Newport Open win. Antony Heathcote and Darren Pountney ended Mick Manning and George Allen's reign as doubles champions after a 3-2 win. After a lengthy tactical dispute in frame one a foul by Antony Heathcote allowed George Allen the chance to clear, an opportunity he didn't squander. Frame 2 saw the roles reversed. Two shots allowed Heathcote and Pountney to open up the game and their chance later came and Pountney didn't disappoint. A marathon frame in the third saw Allen and Manning prosper from another Heathcote foul, it was Allen once again who took advantage with a superb clearance to put the Drayton pair 2-1 up. George Allen went for victory off the break in frame four, however he fell short on his final yellow which proved costly. Heathcote provided two shots for Pountney to take the game to a deciding frame. The game ended in the most unlikely of fashions. Allen mistakenly dropped the black down and the foul cost himself and Manning their doubles reign as Pountney and Heathcote were crowned champions. Kim Rigby was crowned ladies champion after a 5 frame thriller against Juliet Gurney. Rigby came from behind at 1-0 to win the entertaining match in the last frame, a sensational double set up a nervy black to seal the win. Luke Minton and Kyle Smith took 3rd place in the doubles tournament. The Market Drayton pair put in a solid performance to beat Andy Miles and Paul Trevor to pick up their share of the prize money. Neil Dale beat Ian Lewis in a gruelling 5 frames to take third place and his share of the singles pot claiming 3rd place. Tournament organiser Greg Heathcote would like to thank the Tav and Shakespeare Newport for their kind sponsorships, the Newport Royal British Legion for the venue, bar and food. He would also like to thank all those who helped him organise the events and those who volunteered to referee on finals evening. [ This message was edited by: Administrator on 2013-10-24 07:10 ]
