BigDave Moderators Joined: 13-Mar-2006 Posts: 11008 From: England	Posted: 2007-09-15 10:31 Well, they were supposed to play 100 racks last night in this race to 100, but the archaic South Dakota liquor licensing laws insist that all premises are vacated by 2am so they stopped playing with the following score: Shane van Boening 47 : 30 Corey Deuel There were around 80 people in the LIVE audience at "Luckys" pool room, and 80 people in the online chat room, probably many more actually watching. Van Boening is awesome, although the commentators appear to be calling him "Van Bowing" for some reason, he has already thrown together a 7-pack on the 4.25inch pocketed Diamond table with brand new Simonis 860 cloth (no easy feat at ten-ball). Deuel is unperturbed when van Boening takes his lead up to 8 racks ahead, Corey just takes his chances, unflustered, and gets the score back close again and again. Deuel HAS missed a couple of shots, but the story is mainly that van Boening isn't missing much at all. They both appear to be attempting to make the ball on the left side of the pack BEHIND the one ball, into the side pocket, but also hitting them hard enough to give themselves the chance of a random ball elsewhere too. The commentators were going for a full 8 hours, and sometimes it was as funny as heck as they struggled with the maths of the scoring, and how much they were ahead by etc, sometimes it was funny as they plugged their upcoming events and personal websites, but Grady Mathews and Billy Incardona are a great team and always interesting and entertaining. I saw a fair few familiar faces European names watching too, Roy Steffensen was there and so was Achilleas from Scotland (I didn't see Stox, Pro9's free pass winner so if someone wants to try chatting him up for his username and password they may be in with a chance). The finale is tonight and they will be starting at 8pm (London time) so if you've got a spare $10 when you get back from the bars and clubs and fancy watching some quality 10-ball action, sort it out now rather than later.
