Topic: 10 Ball Break and Dish - GB9 Event 4 2018

£1800 carried over from the last event, I declared a £2000 prize fund for this event expecting that the pot would just reach that... But all was quiet and I was wondering if I had over-estimated things as the morning proved to be a very dry time for ticket sales.

Fortunately things picked up in the afternoon, and in the evening the takings added up to a whopping £430 making the grand total prize fund a GB9 record breaking £2,230.

A lovely lady by the name of Nicola plucked the three winning tickets...

293 - CS

362 - CS

MS turns out to be Mitchell Stockham - a visiting snooker player, and both CS's are Chris Seville, another double dipper... Amazing considering we sold over 800 tickets, although he did buy a healthy quantity.

The 10 Ball Break and Dish will be streamed at around midnight tonight.

Unfortunately, the cameraman for the draw was unfamiliar with Android phones and didn't start the camera recording, so there's no video of the draw, but we had the biggest live draw audience in attendance, so there were plenty of witnesses to attest to the honesty of the draw etc.

The Break and Dish - 3 attempts!

I always tease, when selling the tickets, saying, "if you pot three balls on the break you've got a ton of cash and you can go to the bar and have a nice drink with your friends"... But it's 10-Ball and we all know how hard it is to break and make a ball at 10-Ball, so I never really expected anyone to do it.

Today it happened - £223 a ball, and Mitchell Stockham, a first time visitor to the GB 9 Ball Tour, accepted the first rack, and made an unbelievable three balls on the break and earned himself a phenomenal £669 with a single shot!!!

AMAZING!

The one ball was a very thin cut into the corner pocket at medium distance, and although Mitchell had a clear view at the one-ball, and he looked like he was going to continue his run for a while, it was clearly long enough, and a scary enough to help Mitchell decide to take the hefty reward for his spectacular break.

KERCHINGGGG... £669... Thank you very much!

Next up was the first of Chris Seville's two attempts.

Chris refused the first rack, but accepted the second offering, and gave the pack a hearty thump which sent the balls scattering wildly, but nothing initially looking like it would fall, until finally the five ball dropped into a corner pocket... Almost immediately followed by the cueball in the opposite pocket.

Worse was to come, as the dreaded dry-break made an unwelcome return on Chris's second attempt.
