Mark " Granite " Gray. Totally agree. It's important to cater for the grassroots players and a tiered system does just that.

I wasn't a fan of the tiered challenge system idea to be honest as I thought it might become too complex and confusing. I recommended a return to Main,Pro,Challenge with just minor tweaks. But thats why we have a committee and it looks like they were right to over rule me. Great job yet again from the team led by Andy. Well done guys. As he says GB9 has set the ball rolling for next season, now it's down to the players to show support and the best way to do that is to sign up early. When I started to set this up back in 2007 I honestly didn't think we would be talking about the 2014 tour! This is all thanks to the players who run this fantastic tour so thanks for supporting over the years. [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2013-08-07 13:39 ]

It seems we've "Got there" GB9 have always tried to make the events in order to get the numbers, when it's worked it's been great, when it hasn't they put there hands up and make it better! This seems the best and most exciting format to date, combined with lowering the entrance fee's for the none pro's this now seems to be spot on, i'll be leaving my deposit for next season this weekend that's for sure. Great work guy's... One last thing, bring back trophies for all event's!

Simmo - from the start of the 2013 season we now have permanent quality trophies for each event so you can see your name alongside all the winners back to 2008. You also get an engraved shield to take home. I think that makes it more special - i.e. to get your name on the real permanent trophy for all to see for years to come. @ cueman
Have venues been worked out for the 2014 season? It all looks very good from what I've read!

There already seems a buzz about again! I know of a few people that have already re-considered leaving the tour plus heard from Two lads that have never been on it that are certain they will be giving it a go next year. Hopefully we can fill up again! One more suggestion, how about having the relegation promotion system back but only between the Two tiers on the challenge divisions? Even if it's only 4 up and 4 down it just adds another bit of interest for players. Great to hear about the trophies being back also... Well done guys, just what was needed.
Entry fees for non pros just about right now and prize money right too, not too high but not too low.
Very impressed by the small margin between entry fees recieved and money paid out!
Simmo - my understanding was the 2 challenge tiers would work on a rolling basis, so no relegation/promotion as such but each player could move from one tier to another event to event depending on their current ranking.
If the tour is full it will be awesome.

The 2 tier challenge certainly looks like a good idea for us keen hobbyists. Definitely looking forward to playing next year as a newly married man! Good luck to all for the forthcoming weekend.

As everyone else has said this looks great, I hope the wheelie boys such as Roy, Aslam and Tony are thinking of signing up as full members. I might give one event a go depending on venues

yes, defo thinking about it just got to look at overall calendar and costs, we have 5 BWPPA events, possibly 5 of these, I also do EPC (10 days) WPC (4-5 days), english pool worlds (4 days), various civil service events 4-6 days, Disability Snooker 2 days, and also a monthly event at my own club, and all that is before I pick up a cue in practise, on top of a full time and busy/stressed job !!, some people will do anything to keep away from the missus !! lol [ This message was edited by: tigger147 on 2013-08-08 21:03 ]
