Annoyed and Frustrated: :-|

Last night someone decided to permanently borrow my sticks out of my car. Whilst talking to Big Dave today we both realised that there could be a need for Pro9 to offer a Lost and Stolen Forum to the pool community as an extra community resource.
The hope is that we can try to help each other in times like this, just by keeping our ears and eyes open. Not to mention the ultimate satisfaction on the rare occasion if one of these people can actually be found.

Most of us all have sentimental attachments to our sticks (not to mention the expense)

Well for the first case; we have stolen in West London:
1) P2 Black with leather wrap, with 1 Z and 314 shaft
2) Customised Pechauer JP Series (2007-2009) - JP14 (ivory Pechauer bullet joint) with 314 shaft with matching collar
3) Original X Breaker (Black with linen grip) shaft no 026 Customised tip (2mm g10 tip pad with a Samsara Hard tip)
4) Mezz air shooter (Black) metal ferrule

PICS TO FOLLOW

Forgot to mention the distinctive Limited edition Instroke Black and Red Nubuck leather 3butt 5shaft case. Not very common, have not seen anyone else with anything like it yet and it has been discontinued some years back.

Won't bore you with the accessories, e.g (Sandman, tip tool, tip pik, shaper Blue diamond chalk, 10 mori med tips balls blah blah blah and the list goes on

Recovery in confidence,
My email: gregorydesilva@sky.com
Any help recovering them would be appreciated, Cheers for the help in advance guys and gals

Bad news Greg. Important lesson......sticks left in car is a recipe for disaster. This is how Martinho lost his sticks.

Second hand sticks always come my way. If I hear anything, you will be the first to know pal.

Si

I just had a thought. If the lost and stolen forum
is to work its probably a good idea for all us players to take photos of out gear. Just in case.

Has anyone had a cue stolen and then managed to get it back later? What is the recovery rate on things like this?

ive had all mine stolen from car... it took me years to get good comfortable replacements for the lot.

the worst part is they will be sold for what you would love to buy them at, probaly the hard tips cut off and soft ones put on if they are kept by the thief.

i could only assume at the time of my theft they thought they were golf clubs!

the thing to do is invisible mark them even put proof in behind the bung or best of all engrave a code on them! we all could look after each other and keep our eyes open.

its a shame and i hope you get them back.

I once recovered a stolen matched pair of Hunt & Obyrne cues for a guy. he had put out a poster and I just happened to spot a fellow across the room playing with them in my local room. If you get the word out you never know, good luck with the recovery.

I personally have not, but two years ago I received a phone call from a lady (?) asking the value of a certain cue I had made. When she described it I knew right away who I had made it for.

I emailed my customer asking how the cue was working for him..His reply was "it was stolen last Monday evening".

Since I hate a thief more than I do spinach, I gave the phone number of the Lady to my customer. Caller ID is so nice!

My customer called the cell # and negotiated a reward for return of the cue ($50 or so?, don't really recall).

Long story made short: My customer retrieved his cue from the Lady that happened to live only a few miles away and played at the same club.

I felt pretty good over the whole thing...Until my customer insisted that I should repair the damage to the cue caused by the thief, and it should be at no charge!!!!!

I won't repeat my response Dave cuz I know you don't approve of foul language :-)

To the bright side: Don't give up on your stolen equipment being recovered. The pool playing community is quite a bit smaller than what some thieves believe.

I'll keep this short :-)

I once had mu sticks stolen out of my pool room, and the next week i saw them for sale in the next town over. Anyways I tell the pawn shop owner the story (i had photos to prove my claim, and nickname was on the case!) and we call the cops. We tell the cops what has happened, and they ask the pawn shop owner to call the guy who pawnrd the cues to stop by as he needed to "re-price on of the sticks due to damage" that wasnt first seen when he brought them in. Anyways the guy lives like, 2 blocks over and is there within 10 mins, where he is arrested by the waiting cops!

Cool story huh!

The guy gets busted, and i get my beloved cues back!

I have to say gettting them back is just like buying them for the first time, but better.

Whish u luck in geetting them back buddy!!

That's terrible G. Ask Hassan if you can put up pictures or a notice or something in his club and ask the Acton Snooker Club as well. Most likely, the culprit will try to pawn it off to a player who goes to one of those clubs as they're closest in the area. Good luck m8 and see we'll you soon in a couple months' time.

Have you tried trawling through E-bay to see if the culprit has put them on there.
