Steve missed too many chances and against Ronnie playing at only 50% you can't do that. If Steve had one another frame before the interval and been 2-2 then maybe different, but he didn't play well enough. Why Virgo has to say this maybe last appearance in final stages of UK for Davis is beyond me. He's been written off before and proved everyone wrong and will do so again. He'll never be Top 16 again but I'm sure he'll be inside top 32 at end of year.

Ronnie at 50%, what match were you watching? he had a 95% pot rate, 90% safety success plus he is sinking long pots like he used to back in the day, Davis was a mere spectator glued to his seat.

That's just it. 95% pot rate for Ronnie is pretty sloppy.

Sorry my comment was supposed to say you can't do that even with Ronnie at 50% and not that he played at 50%. I don't think Ronnie was at full ability but then he never is these days. The first 3 racks could have gone either way, but Steve just misses too many silly shots. But he's playing better this year than previous and I think enjoying the increased calender as am I watching the PCTs on the WorldSnooker site although watching snooker with no commentary is very eerie.
