What do you reckon to it? Will it be around next year do you think? I wasn't convinced by Power Snooker at all, although the Power snooker Girls were hot stuff!

From the "Industry News" section of our forums, just received this... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Statement: Jimmy Michie v Marcus CampbellThe WPBSA has been made aware, by bookmakers, of suspicious betting patterns on the match between Jimmy Michie and Marcus Campbell at the Caesarscasino.com Snooker Shoot-Out on Friday evening. The match in the one-frame knockout tournament in Blackpool was won by Campbell, 32 points to 21. An usually high number of bets had been placed on Campbell to win the match. The matter has been passed on to David Douglas, head of the WPBSA's Integrity Unit, for a thorough and immediate investigation. WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson said: "We take the threat of corrupt activity very seriously and we are treating this matter with the utmost urgency. Having set up the Integrity Unit last year, we have the mechanisms in place to make a full investigation." ends ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2011-01-29 12:35 ]

Power snooker was great, so is this (although not really a fan of 1 frame matches) but I don't understand why they're trying to change snooker to something more like pool. Just televise pool!

Thats the most I've enjoyed watching snooker on TV in ages, some unbelievable matches!
Dont think it's the first time campbell has been linked to dodgey betting patterns. Feel sorry for the poor sod if he's inocent

I was there for the weekend and I have got to say, it was AMAZING! Definately going next year!
Robertson was class, as was O'Sullivan.
The atmosphere was great, although you got the odd idiot shouting when the players were on shots, overall it was brill!
Glad Nigel Bond won in the end. He was shaking so much in the final, must have been so nerve wrecking.

I missed it all as I was out of the country but it sounds awesome. I think I'd like to see at least a race to 2 or 3 though rather than one frame. Love the fact they lag for break too - why don't they do this at all snooker tournaments instead of flipping a coin? [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2011-02-01 10:28 ]
