Completely out of order but as Lee said the powers to be probably got Hazel Irvine to say all that at the end just to make it good TV.

To be honest, I reckon it was in his favour for it to happen. He has a lot of snooker fans against him at the moment, the emotional end to the match can only help some people endear to him again

Agree with Lee. I very much doubt that Hazel asked that question off her own back. She's a good presenter if you ask me. But it was always going to be a question that was asked if John didn't mention it himself. And the reason it was asked is that is that his dad passed away in the year and so it was first World Champs since his death. He was always seen at the event and all players got on with him. This will be the last tournament it is asked or mentioned I am sure. Makes for great TV and I'll admit I had a tear too and it's done Higgins image the world of good. Irrespective of his wrong doings last year he has served his ban and has proved how much of a class act he is on the green baize and everyone should put the events behind him. Only Higgins himself knows the truth about the incident and whether he was scared or planning the match fixing for real and he is living with that himself. Great championship this year with excellent coverage. My only gripe is that there was no incentive for a 147 and as such this year had the lowest high break since 1987 (or thereabouts). One thing I heard today regarding the new tour and Barry Hearn taking over is that apparently Hendry was dead against it and tried to set up a new tour for those players who did not like the new format. Interesting!! Not sure if true but very interesting indeed. Also interesting to hear that there was only a small majority who wanted the new tour. Six I think. I think the new Tour is superb and just what the tour needs.

Yeah you have to respect John Higgins, regardless of what went on in the past. He has the best cueing action too. But the match fixing went on this year, he decided to win them all, and pocket £250,000!!!

If you're not friends with Judd Trump on FaceBook, you should be, especially if you like a giggle. Needless to say there are loads of girls declaring undying love to the lad, but his last few posts naturally have hundreds of replies, and they are pretty choice, like... am afraid ben youve got to put hendry right up there with these 2 if not top,the mans record has proven this, ronnie is a freak at snooker, just a shame his head is up his behind otherwise he would be unbeatable, most naturally gifted player ever to pick a cue up for sure, judd just a raw awesome talent,21 year old and playin like he does, loads to come from him in future,if he does tighten up on his game, which he will, first time in final and was showin no nerves at times wi balls he was knocking in,best potter to pick a cue up is judd, breathtakin at times
a think if ronnie got his head out of his beahind n had some respect for the game thats made him a millionaire then he would do better but at times he has no respect for his opponents and thinks hes bigger than the game, prob down to illegal stuff imo
as for a pure professional then stephen hendry tops it
