Daryl Peach won Colchester beating Andy Worthington 11 -10. Only have the results from the semis: DARLY PEACH - MARK GRAY: 9 - 4 and ANDY WORTHINGTON - TOMMY DONLON: 9 - 4

Andy Worthington has beaten Tommy Donlon in their semi-final match, Daryl Peach had won his semi-final against Mark Gray. Then I had to leave... Sorry! But then Daryl phones me as I was writing this and he let me know that he just managed to beat Andy 11-10. Apparently Andy got to ten first leading Daryl there 10-9, and Daryl had nothing but respect for Andy's game afterwards. It was already Worthington's best result ever when he got his first ever semi-final position, and he has beaten so many top players in this event., Imran Majid and Tommy Donlon to name a few. I've got tonnes of photos from the event, interviews with players and of course we'll have BPPPA Press Officer, Ben Moore's final match report too. PLUS a couple of very special Pro9 firsts... But it's a surprise so you'll have to keep checking the site! Remember it's alway first and it's always best at Pro9.co.uk! ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor

that was a great final and well worth waiting around for, but one thing irks me, the official world standardized rules under cue specifications states that a player may bring only 3 cues to a match, daryl used 4 cues in the final is there something we should be told

Well done Dazzler and congratulations to Andy on getting to the final. On 2006-05-14 22:43 , nipper Wrote:!!! Here's a snippet: 1.4 Permitted Use of Equipment (new in 2006) The following is a list of acceptable equipment items a player may bring to the table to use in a World Pool-Billiard Association sanctioned event: (a.) Cue Stick -- Each player is permitted to use one or more cue sticks which meet the specifications listed in the equipment specifications section.. He may use either a built-in extender or an add-on extender to increase the length of the stick.

As I understand it you may use as many cues as you like, but you must take them to the table with you. ie. you can't go and borrow a mate's jump cue when their match finishes etc.
Congrats Daryl, pleased to see I got stuffed by the winner!

Hi guys, didnt get back home till 3am last night so i had a nice lie in this morning lol
The event was going great for me without too many scares until i ran into Mr Worthington in the final...Andy was obviously playing some superb pool to get to the final the way he did, beating Majid and Donlon comfortably on the way. In the final the table racked really badly so it wasnt the type of match like my previous rounds where i ran a couple of 7 packs, and also because Andy and myself are such good mates, even though we both wanted to win but it was hard to get aggresive in the match and stanmp authority on it. Even so it was a great final for the spectators and to be fair it had 11-10 writen all over it form the off!! Im chuffed to bits for Andy coz hes worked hard at his game and commited himself to travel to the Eurotours with me and now his rewards are starting to come through.....and i am certain that we will be seeing a lot me of him in final stages in the future. He is a class act and great guy, and i have the upmost respect for him! As for my cues, i only used 3 in the final anyway...my playing cue, my jump break cue, and a different break cue which i use for breaking from the box with, but as riggers said there isnt a limit as long as you bring them to the table with you at the start of the match. Tommy Donlon and Mark Grey should get a mention here too.....the ever consistant Gray put up another great show but in our semi i had a few rolls on the break which more or less helped me to victory. Even though Tommy wasnt at his best this weekend he still manged to reach the semi, which is a sign to let other players know that he is definately back for sure! My final word goes to Ted Bristow, president of the BPPPA for running a superb event at Colchester, from the moment the draw was made to the last ball potted the event ran smoothly and to schedule, which goes to show that when he is given the correct tools i.e tables and venue, he comes up trumps every time....roll on Victoria!!!

I really enjoyed this event. The whole weekend was perfect - the club, the tables (except table 5!), Riley's staff, Ted and his BPPPA staff's excellent organisation, the friendliness of all the players, Colchester itself, the restaurants, the local pubs, the great rock band in O'neils - Just perfect!

Well done Daryl, that's 3-3 you and tommy thus far for 05/06, you two having a side bet for the session or something!
Big respect to Mr Worthington for getting to his first UK final, you deserve it pal.
Well disappointed with my own performance. Didn't get anything going after suffering heavily on the curling rink that was table 5 during my opening match; but if I'm honest that can't act as an excuse, my head wasn't in the right place to do any damage this weekend. But I'll figure it out and bounce back for the next one!
Hope to see you all again in Victoria for a spot of 8 ball.

Ahhh, that's very kind of you. I know it's not that good, but I only saw the camera for the first time on Friday evening and it's more of an experiment than anything else to be honest. Hopefully I can improve the quality whilst at the same time reducing the file size, and we can have longer and better quality videos later on. That video is a bit of fun isn't it? You can hear Jon Davies saying "Good shot!" when Daryl plays the first shot to perfection.
"Player of the Day" must go to Andy Worthington who played as good a game of pool as I have ever seen, he really caught a gear on Sunday and I have to say I was very impressed!
It was nice to see everyone after such a long break, I'll have to come along to the next one.
