Paul Mottey cue for sale on Ebay i was gonna get it until i spoke to Paul, he says its a scam thats been going on for a while, cue has changed hands loads of times and then moved on quickly.
The guy wont sell through Ebay, he puts it on there then sells it to you private for less money than the bidding, something not rite.
Shame thought i was in for the bargain of the century.......

No worries Deano , at least it's better that you (And many other players) know now, than after being scamed by the scumbags behind it, and I say hats off to Paul for giving you the heads up on it too I would recommend, taking to look and see what Mr D'Vali has got up for grabs, or try some of the cuemakers I mentioned in your other thread Either way, I wish you the best of luck in finding a great cues stick Willie

Hey Deano Rackrunner 100% right on that, I too have tried predator cues before and me personally, I hate them with a passion, to me, they have little feel in them, and the shaft is just a little bit too stiff to be able to really work the cueball, with great ease, but this is just my views and every player is different On the Justis Case though, you have definitely made a sweet choice indeed , I've loved the thought of getting a justis case, but they're just way outta my price range, so I opted for a very nice real snakeskin and leather case from the phillippines instead and I'm very happy with what I got what I will say is, no matter what, when you're buying a cue stick, make sure that the cue stick is an investment, where that if you choose to sell it on, that you will easily get good money back on it, because if you buy a production cue, it will be just like buying a car, where once you have chalked it up to hit the first ball, it automatically loses a 1/3 of it's value, and so, you'll have lost a good potential amount of money, from selling it on, in the event that you don't like it... whereas with a cuemaker, if you buy a custom cue, it will not only keep it's value, but it's value will increase with age, and so, not only will you have a cue stick that plays great, but it will be a worthy investment too Believe me, it's better to invest, than it is to lose out Whatever you decide, is cool because it's entirely your decision after all, but it's sound advice and definitely worth considering Willie

Capone cues are pretty decent cues as well, they're mostly a high end cue, I'm not sure how they hit or of any guys that play with 'em, but I would imagine that there's quite a few guys out there that have a Capone Cue and would be pretty happy with them If you can get your hands on a Southwest or similar, then it would be well worth it, but there are many really good cue makers out there, and I would recommend shopping around for a while, to see what information you can find out on how a certain cuemaker's cues hit, whether they have a soft or solid hit, what kinda price range you're looking for, etc Basically, you want to try and find a custom made cue, that has got high end finishing, that hits how you like a cue to hit, but for about half the price , 9 out of 10 times you'll find a hidden gem on evilbay, and so, it's worth keeping your eyes out, but it's a case of being patient, as something will definitely come up Willie

good advice by willie there.at the end of the day it is your choice what you do, but i personally would rather wait six months or year or how ever long it would take for you to have the available money to invest in a custom. Capone is a decent cue but not in my top ten of cue makers imo if your looking for advice on any cue there is only one man to ask..Si D'vali...he has more knowledge about cue's and makers than all of us put together and i am sure he can point you in the right direction for what you can buy within a certain price range drop him pm with a budget and i'm sure he would help you..not right now tho as he is not able to help you..he has more important things on his mind. lets hope Si and his family are well and pray for good outcome.

I had a Capone a few years ago and to be honest I was not really into it. Nice wood to wood joint with a softer hit but I just did not like it and sold it on quickly.
When buying a high end cue u really need to try cues from a number of makers and then decide but finding cues to try is hard in the UK.
Before you even start talking about what maker to choose for your new cue, you need to establish your budget.
Best advice - talk to the Diamond and try before you buy if you can.

Hello, Well I'm no cue expert but I'm still going to disagree with virtually everyone else in this thread and say that you should buy a cue that plays well and compliments your game regardless of whether it's a production or "custom" cue and regardless of its resale value. If you're actually going to play with it and not keep it in a glass case then the investment angle should be irrelevant anyhow as the cue will get dings and scratches which will decrease it's value. In other words you said you have loved the Predator P2 since 1999 so why take a chance on another cue. If you're sure that the P2 plays just as you want a cue to play then go on that rather than on investment value or brand name. Chris. [ This message was edited by: Chrstc on 2007-03-28 13:19 ]
