He is a ok commentator but should really try to learn phrases of pool..like cushions are rails and snookers are safety or hooks and sometimes he can't see how or what type of shot the player will be playing next because he obviously doesn't play pool..personally i think the best commentators are ex-players or current players...apart from that he is alright

i agree, it would sound a little better. however he doesn't really need to know all of the phrases.
for example i was watching the WPC 2006, and the funniest comment came out (i think it was Jim Wych)
He said: ''He's got alot of green!'', as if to say there is alot of distance between cueball and object ball.
I found this quite amusing
Was that comment not a golf term???
Im confused now

could you imagine earl commentating? it would be hilarious! I could just see him physically getting out of the commentary box, running down to the table and slate the player because he didn't play the shot exactly to his liking
