morning all, just a quickie.........i can't make the BPPPPPPPPA due to working saturdays - so i have decided to start going to the SAPPA tournaments as they seem to have a quality field and are close to me. What i would like to know is if the tables are tapped, whether it is winner breaks or alternate....and also some info on how good the SAPPA tournaments are. PLEASE
cheers

Hi Cletus.
Where are you from?
SAPPA events do not have tapped tables. They have double eliminator usually down to last 16 & races are usually to 7 on winners & 5 on losers, winner breaks.
There is one on Sunday at Glenrothes at Marco's 5 Caskieberran Road.
Standard is usually very good.
Check out SAPPA's website for more info. (www.scottish9ball.com)
Maybe see you there!

The dates for the next three events (and many other interesting tournaments) can be found on the The Pro9.co.uk Calendar - I believe that's all the dates confirmed so far as I try to keep it as up to date as possible with all of the major and important tours. ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor

Cletus, annual membership is £35. Entry fees are £25 for non members and £20 for members. On a field of 60 players you can expect the winner to collect around £400 (maybe Pat Holtz can confirm this, as he has won most of the recent ones.... ) I only know about the next 2 events (Glenrothes 11th Feb & Kirkcaldy 4th March) The rest of the season has yet to be confirmed, but hopefully be sorted soon.

Oh and as members of SAPPA, we currently get table discount at Rileys, depending on your ranking.
Top 8 get free play 8-64 get 50% discount all others get 25% discount.

Bruno, annual membership is £25 and not £35. Just to clear that up.

I cant speak for Marco's Glenrothes as its a new club, but most of the clubs we play in are Rileys, so it really depends on the club as to how well maintained they are.
I've never heard anything about them tapping tables now or in the future, but I'm sure it could added to the list for discussion this Sunday...
Cheers. Brian Craig.

One thing I should clear up is that the deal that SAPPA has with Rileys regarding money off table costs is only available at Rileys clubs in Scotland. Look forward to seeing you in Glenrothes on Sunday. Best wishes thecardman www.scottish9ball.com The Cardman's Blog
