I love my Meuccis! Simon has bought more Meuccis than he admits. I was speaking with Bob's son-in-law from Meucci the other day - he has a REALLY long Southern drawl which was fun to listen to, but I nearly died when he kept pronouncing it "MAY-YEW-CHEE"

OCD taken to new heights by Simon - but great fun to read about all the same - it's like a bizarre 'holy grail' adventure story.

He, he! A Grail indeed. I felt as if it was mythical all these years. I still didn't believe it existed until I had it in my hands, I though it was just some of my cue friends in the US playing a massive prank on me.
Way, way too much energy placed into aquiring it .
Glad you all enjoyed reading about the quest though.

Bob's son-in-law probably thought that your accent was quite quaint Dave. In Spain the Meucci cue is pronounced MAY OO CHEE, I have never heard it pronounced any other way, how do your pronounce it in the UK and why? I don't like them in general, they are too pretty for my liking but obviously suit some people I know!!!

Then you should spell it Mucci Typical Brits trying to anglicize foreign words, why not learn how to pronounce words that cannot be translated into English

What is the Meucci that Tommy Donlon uses? That cue is really nice.

I suppose it depends on which dictionary you use, my Concise Oxford gives the spelling with a z first followed by a suggestion that you can also use an s as an alternative. [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2007-01-06 15:46 ]
