I'm looking for a list of the top professional American pool clubs in the UK. Having recently returned from Thailand and the Philippines I can play a pretty good amateur game and am looking to move up a level. Can you help please?

The clubs should be primarily American pool, Brunswick Metro or Diamond Pro-Am tables and have a membership system that allows a lot of pool for a reasonable price. Good regular players, a few pro's and no lager louts in hoodies carrying flick knives :-P

Hi Smartwood. My name is Phil Wildman I run Total9ball tournaments, we normally have about 2 events a month. We have a big event in High Wycombe on the 22nd November. All the best amateurs in the country are playing. This event would be a great opportunity for you to test your game and see where your at. Send me a text on 07795535051 if you would like some more details.

wow, thanks for all your messages guys... and here's me thinking I can't get a game here.

Wildman147 - thanks for the offer, will be in contact when I'm set up and mobile.

Lesty - Sounds great, will let you know when I'm in the area.

Ollie - noted ;-) it seems though that anyone that plays a lot goes to live in thailand/philippines or Vegas. Not worried about status... just like to play, a lot and hate it when completely mismatched... my sisters husband wont play me any more.

Where are you actually living Smartwood? I posted a similar request 12 months ago looking for playing partners around the Manchester area.

hey Bradders... at'minute in me sisters spare room on't'other side o't'pennines in pontefract ;-) - thats about the best i can do a yorkshire accent now haha been away too long.

hey Carnage... yeah I can see what you mean, by the looks of things theres more money in hustlin (up and down) than rankings and tournament prizes... truth is I don't wanna be on the telly, i just want my game to improve and get some table time in with some good players... I am by no means excellent... but good enough that its not enjoyable pretending to be trash against drunk pub players (so you don't get a cue wrapped round your head!) and paying 2 quid a game on rubbish tables when you only visit the table once haha... and as for the day job, I don't have one.

I'm in Flixton, but am a student at Man Met. Am looking for a practise partner for a couple of weeks, as I have a uni comp coming up.

I'm not the best but I can pot so yeah if you ever fancy a game somewhere that'd be sound.

well... i need to get some accommodation and a car asap. went to Barnsley today on the bus, took just over an hour, lugging my big heavy predator case around.

finally found Escape pool hall and was very excited to get inside. Looks great inside, then I saw the manager/owner... he looked at me like i wanted to rob the place. "what do you want" to play pool would be nice. "which table" that diamond there should be perfect...

No, you can't play on that! err ex-squeeze me? baking powder?

"no, I don't know you and it's my private table"!!! well leave it in your phuckin house then.

His attitude didn't warm up, I can see why he has 50 tables and 2 customers. I would rather chop my arms off than give him even a penny of table money... so I left. I think we'll cross off Barnsley.

Hi Smartwood. I'm Matt Lester, and I've been practising at Escape for 8 years. George is right, the table belongs to Darren Appleton it's his own table. The Sam tables are good tables, and there are 2 Sam's that have shimmed pockets. I want a regular practise partner if you can play 2-3 times a week in the afternoon?
