Hey all Its my first post and I am going to annoy you with a what cue should I buy question. I am only really looking for manufacture suggestions - There isnt really anywhere locally or within traveling distance that holds a range of american cues that I can try out. I am currently using this as my playing cue - www.libertygames.co.uk/store/pool-and-snooker-accessories/american-pool-cues/stinger-cue I know it states jump cue but when compared with this "playing cue" the specs are exactly the same. Would the balancing point be any differnet on the second cue? www.cuepower.co.uk/stinger-shadowline-with-stinger-jumpbreak-cue-and-case-set-p-790.html I am thinking of getting another shaft only and retips with a medium playing tip, and tipping another shaft with a hard samsara tip - would this be a viable option for a playing cue? I love this cue and my only complaints are that it could do with being a little heavier and the balancing point could ideally be moved forward a 2-4 inchs towards the tip. Can anyone recommend a cue manufacturer based on this information? I have tried this in the past and didnt like it www.cuepower.co.uk/buster-2-piece-american-pool-cue-p-58.html I tried a heavy macdermott sneaky pete cue ages ago that had a highy varnised surface that I got on well with. Unfortunalty I dont know that exact model. Thanks ahead for any answers [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2014-05-13 15:20 ]

Cues, tips, shaft length, etc are a very personnal thing so its down to the individual. Its GB9 this weekend and Big dave should have a vast collection of cues to try out (try before you buy), if you can make it to Davantry. I have no complaints with the 314/2 shaft that I use (SS Kamui tip) but again its all down to YOUR preference. Try out as many cues as you can (beg borrow or steal from other people). Sorry I'm not much help but Daventry would be a good starting place to trying some out.

Dont worry Hinge I figured this would be the answer I would get! Who is big Dave and where can he be found after GB9, unfortunatly cant make it to daventry! Unfortunatly the 9balll scene isnt too big down here so not alot of chances to try other players cues. I wish I could afford a Preadtor cue or at least a shaft

Its worth investing in a Predator 314 (either 2 or Z depending of preference) as you can get these to fit most butts. This may save a few pounds if you like your current butt. Where are you living?????? I travel the country a lot and may be nearby for you to try a couple of my shafts. Big Dave can be found here in the pro shop. Drop him a line to find out when (and if) heres near you.
