So 3 weeks ago I converted from snooker specs to contact lenses. Although I find my vision pretty much perfect (20/20 so the optician says) I have noticed a very slight oval shape to the pool balls. Friday just gone I had my follow up appointment and mentioned this to the optician who said it was perfectly normal (with my astigmatism) to see this but just said I needed to keep practicing and my brain will correct this vision I'm seeing. The shape of the ball is making me miss all sorts balls I would normally pot 99/100 and is very frustrating and unlike me as people would have seen in yesterday's T9B event.
What I'm wondering is if anyone else who has made this conversion suffered with the same thing and if so how long did it take before the brain corrected this so the balls are round again?
Any info would be greatly appreciated as I'm not going to bother entering anymore comps until I'm happy with my vision and my game is back to normal.
Thanks

A friend of mine had the same Oval effect when playing snooker. Unfortunately there was nothing he could do about it... Eventually he did get the hang of it and it and his game got better. Just keep using them and you should be ok.

Glad i'm not on my own with this. I did get reassurance that eventually i would get used to this but unfortunately there is no time scale. I'm going to play some Snooker to see if this helps also but i'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it gets corrected sooner rather than later. Thanks for the response. Anyone else knows of anyone or have had the same thing themselves? ----------------- Predator Roadline Sneaky Line SP8NWR
