So finally it's official - we're going to Blackpool. I've never been to Blackpool - but I'm looking forward to visiting... Is anyone else looking forward to going? http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/article.php?sid=2430[ This message was edited by: Administrator on 2014-01-16 00:05 ]

Oh yeah! (I was thinking, "what's he talking about?" - and then the penny dropped!) Cool... I hope I like it then!

I don't enjoy visiting Blackpool as I was born there, later moving to Lytham and then St. Annes. I ended up happy to leave and let the tourists get on with it. But the Tower Circus has special memories for me as a child and is a truly wonderful place. Whether it will capture the atmosphere for the Mosconi Cup like the York Hall did we'll have to wait and see. I just like to remember it for the inimitable Charlie Cairoli and Norman Barratt. The Tower Circus still features the false floor which disappears slowly to change the circus arena into a big water pool with water fountains, which was always used as the dramatic finale to the circus or christmas panto. It's probably the wrong type of pool for the Mosconi Cup though Then there's the wonderful Tower Ballroom housing the famour Whirlitzer, which a close friend of mine and my former school teacher used to play regularly for BBC concerts. It really is a brilliant place and I'm sure people who've not been before will thoroughly enjoy the experience.
