Hi there,

the Mosconi Cup caused my pool fever to resurface after about 6 years of not playing. Unfortunately, the 2 places in Reading where they had 9ft tables have closed or removed their 9ft tables.

Are there any "proper" 9ft pool tables in Reading? Online I can only find outdated info (the big rileys closed years ago). The only ones I could find are located in High Wycombe, which is at least a 45 minutes drive.

Thanks a lot,

Stefan

Hi Stefan,

I'm afraid that it's not good news. There are hardly any places to play American pool in the Reading area now. It's been like this for a few years now which is why most of the players in the area have dropped off of the tours.

I know that there's 1 table in the Crucible Snooker Club in Newbury but other than that I think High Wycombe is your best bet.

Good luck
Stox

Yes that's really bad news. Is that the whole south of England or is this just a sad black spot on the map :-?
Newbury seems to be the better option but if there's only one table i wonder if it's worth driving 25 miles.

Hi Stefan, nearest one is in Newbury. I've been in crucible Snooker club a year ago and they have I think 2 AM table they are nice table. I'm not sure about the othe club that Hinge has mentioned if that is the same club. Sound cheaper for £5 per hour. I can give you a game but I am only available on Saturday from 2:30PM onward.
