University Pool Teams from the length and breadth of the country have descended on Telford - making use of the same high quality tables and balls used by the GB 9 Ball Tour earlier in the week.
Just under 100 players from 21 university teams are battling it out in the Individual Championship as well as the Team Championship Trophy, plus separate side events including individual flyers, a "crash" tournament, and scotch doubles too!
There's a great fun atmosphere and a heck of a lot of pool to be played.
Interestingly - Phil Burford will be starting university next year and he has said he is keen to play in this event.
I'll post some photos soon.

Yes I'm really proud that we have formed this partnership with the Universities Pool Council which gives tomorrows players the chance to play on the very best equipment in the best playing conditions. And of course the winner of their Singles tournament will win a fully paid spot on the GB9 challenge tour in 2014 (or £399 towards a Pro spot if they go down that route). Good luck to all the players this weekend. ----------------- Andy Warden, GB9 - Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor √ [ This message was edited by: cueman on 2013-12-06 12:01 ]

Truly massive audience of students watching the semi-finals of the individuals event right now... http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/chat.php...You can hear them "oohing" and "ahhing" as xxx tries to get three fouls on the other guy and applauding all the good shots - really quite heartening experience for the future of our game. Such good sports. LIVE STREAMING NOW... http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/chat.php

Ben Buckley just won the final, for the second year running - the first person to ever win the event twice. I had breakfast with him this morning - obviously it;s all down to me then! Congratulations Ben!

The players REALLY love the equipment - they just can't believe how nice the balls and tables are! Live streaming resumes on Sunday and will feature the teams event. ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2013-12-07 23:32 ]
