What would be the odds on the 20th Anniversary of the Mosconi Cup reprising the old rivalry between Steve Davis and Earl Strickland?

I don't think they would bring Davis back and I don't think its fair to either. Too many great European players playing well and deserve to be there more than someone who hasn't played since 2006 or 2007

Agreed, Mosconi Cup is now taken far more seriously than the days of Higgins, White and Davis (to an extent). Would be unfair to keep someone who has had a stellar year out just because of this.

As much as I fully understand that the Cup is now the pinnacle of most players' year/career, it is still an exhibition.

As a fan, bring back Romford Slim for me!!! Or Hendry! You could argue that it'd be the only way to make it an even contest again.

Deffo stick Davis in.

The Mosconi Cup doesn't mean anything its just an exhibition and a chance for players to raise their profile. Does it really matter who wins if the event is a good watch?

I'm sure Daz & Karl won't agree that the Mosconi Cup doesn't mean anything....

I'm sure if you asked all 10 players every one of them would say the same thing.

WINNING MEANS EVERYTHING!!!!

Watching it every year for the past 10 tells you that.

Personally think it is only really out of NvdB & Thorsten. I agree though Tony, a very difficult pick with all of the talent that we have over here.

Never the same without any rookies in my opinion. Get Jayson in there!! The Americans love a Scot, he could be Pool's equivalent of Rowdy Roddy Piper!!!

Travesty if Thorsten not picked, surely?

Agreed Riggers, Thorsten has had an absolute cracker of a season, World Straight Pool Champion, World 9 Ball Champion, current World number 1, and yet apparently he's been told he hasn't got a place?!

Makes absolutely no sense to me at all, and whilst I can see the argument for Strickland and tend to agree with it, for the European team Thorsten should have been one of the first asked, and not Davis.

It means more exposure and hopefully more money as they are both great guys and deserve everything they get as they have worked hard to achieve it.

Win or lose the cup doesn't really matter. If they can get there names known in non pool watching households like Davis White Hendry and Ronnie have managed in non snooker fan households then fantastic.

Next comment might be unpopular but in terms of exposure and opportunities did Fabio losing and crying doing him more good than winning???
