Hey everyone, I'm new to the site and this is my first post. I'm planning a sort break soon, and I want to take my cue with me. So far, I'm only thinking of going to Paris, Brussels and finishing off in Amsterdam so I can get a plan home to Southend Airport. I could Google search clubs in these cities, and read broad reviews on them. But I'd rather ask what clubs are there, and what makes them great? If not great, worth visiting. There must be some great places, and great stories to tell. I can't wait to hear some of them. Thanks. Just to add, I'm an average player. I'm not looking for the best places to get hustled, more the ones I can say 'I've played there'. [ This message was edited by: Twombly on 2013-09-09 12:23 ]

I've looked at that club, it's relaunching later this month but I wouldn't have known he plays there.
Thanks Riggers.

Well St Albans seems to the most peoples favorite. I always hear someone talking about a tournament but I've never been.
My local is Basildon Riley's. I rarely deviate.

I agree with Matt. Escape is a great pool hall.

if you are in Paris, Académie de billard - Clichy-Montmartre has to be on your list. Academie de billiardSome cracking pictures from a French photographer on this link. http://www.benoit-rajau.comBags of character. Click on Travaux Personnels in the menu (it appears at the top off the page if you move your pointer over this area) Billiard l'Académie Clichy-Montmartre for quality pictures from days gone by. Clichy-Montmartre is certainly a historic club but sadly they have taken out all pool tables from the main hall to make room for more poker tables! Still 3 or 4 American pool tables left in side hall plus a couple of 3 cushion tables.
So maybe worth a visit, but far from the best in Paris for actually playing pool.
