I'm going to be moving to aberdeen next week so was hoping someone could advise me on a good pool hall there. I mainly play american pool so looking for places best for that (player wise and table wise). Online I saw shooters and rileys but I don't know if they have any tournaments there. Any comments would be appreciated.

There used to be a great place called the Golden 9 Ball - run by a load of really enthusiastic pool players, but they lost their premises and I'm not sure what's happening now.
I'll see if I can scare up the Scots now.

To be honest, I don't know how much of an American Pool scene there is in Aberdeen these days (maybe Bruno can inform us) but if you fancy a wee journey down to Edinburgh on July 28th, the boys there are running another of their Masters events at The New Yorker in Meadowbank. You can get full details at their Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/edinburgh.nineball?fref=tsBest wishes thecardman

Cheers Cardie! Bruno (Brian Craig) was playing Phil Morgan in Ipswich yesterday... I don't know if that means he's on his way off out of the country or on his way back to Scotland now? I've sent him a message anyway. [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2013-07-17 20:16 ]

Hi alien. I'm from Aberdeen. unfortunately shooters has closed down. The club BDK mentioned (golden break) closed a few years ago All we have left is the Rileys on Bridge Place (smack bang in the centre of Aberdeen ) or Miami beach (Cuba lounge ) at the beach amusement complex .
9 ball scene has disappeared and since i stopped running the. league no-one has bothered to continue. Rileys user to run a. weekly but since died a death.
Sorry for disappointing news...
i still play occasionally so can meet up sometime for a rack or two
Cheers Brian Craig

Hey Brian thanks a lot for the reply. Pretty sad to hear the state of pool in aberdeen but I guess will have to do with what's there. I will definitely shoot you a message once I'm there. It would be nice to practise with someone. hey cardman I had a look at the fb page and it looks like you guys have got something very good going on over there. Although from the looks of things the tournament is more for 'pro' players, I will definitely come to one of the future events just to test myself. thanks again everyone for the help!
