Predator 314 Vs. Predator Z Shaft |

I have both and have been using the Z for about 3 years now. I picked up the 314 probably a year ago but could never get going with it as it's so different. I've been feeling guilty about this and plan to put them head to head and sell the loser! Anyway... What do players feel is the better shaft and why? From my limited experience with the 314 I felt it had a superior hit, a more solid feel and worked much better than the Z for me when using a closed bridge. Where I think it is behind the Z is in the deflection stakes and I also felt uncomfortable aiming so far out on the cue ball to achieve the same spin as the Z could give me. I know that it's a perception thing but still! The Z also feels a bit weak when playing power screw shots to me. I only play for fun but how do people recommend that I adjust to the 314 as fast as possible if I do decide to make the change?

I just had my first session with the 314 and things are how I remember them last time. It's a better shaft in every way other than for aiming with spin. I'm having to aim way thicker or thinner depending on what side I use and it's stressful! However, I just broke and ran of 16-Ball Rotation anyway!

The best thing you can do is simply not fret about it, just don't care! The more you think about this "deflection" thing you talk of the more it will take over you as a player. IMO it genuinely doesn't matter, you will get used to it. I started to realise this when I saw a video on youtube of a golfer, he said - "Just put that dumb guy, onto that dumb guy... Into that dumb guy". Moral of the story being that it can only do what its told. (Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3kh0bjlYX0 - Watch from 4:22.) My suggestion is stick to it, and dont worry if it doesnt go your way for a week or so.

LOL at the golf video! I don't play but that was pretty funny... I think I'm giving myself a week to like the 314 but at the minute it seems to be a way harder game with it, regardless of results! Out of curiosity, how easy is it to snap a Z shaft accidentally through play? If I hit the base of the white hard for a big screw shot it feels like a twig and this is my only real complaint with it.
