Unfortunately, yes...

There is another press-release coming tomorrow, with the latest information from the IPT.

Most likely it will say that the sale to HO didn't work out, and that they have to cancel the upcoming events and that they are still working with other major sponsors in order to pay the checks, and start again.

With this they are buying time, but in fact it means that they are dead...

Just my thoughts...

I know that some of the players have already got together and contacted a lawyer. They have the contact info for almost everyone who competed in Reno, so I guess that all the players will get some information, and I guess that every one of them will join a lawsuit.

I'd like to belive the IPT could still be saved, but it seems to be less likely everyday. To me the only thing that was saving it was the Ho deal, now it looks like thats fallen through i really think its all in serious trouble.

The thing with the IPT is that it was always about the money. You could get $10,000+ for just turning up, but now it loooks like that moneys not going to get paid out why would anyone want to play in Chicargo.

I would really, really like to belive that its all just a mix up and all the players will get paid, but i don't see that happening. :-(

I guess we can never be sure it's dead until we've poked it with a stick, but it's looking very bad indeed.

What with the IPT not paying the players and from all the rumours going around, well... There's no smoke without fire!

However, even if it folds tomorrow, and I understand that would be terrible for the people who are owed money, I still think it's been a great bit of marketing for our sport and I would still be looking at the many positives that came from it.

I think he got his $10k from Vegas but is still praying for his $41K from Reno to turn up. Never give up hope.

I think that it's best to keep an open mind on the situation with the IPT as none of us actually know the reasons why the guys haven't got paid yet, and it may very well be a genuinely good reason, so as far as how things are for the IPT, it's just a case of wait and see before deciding either way :)

Either way, I'm not bothered about it because we still got the EPT here in the UK as well as the various other tours like, BPPPA, SAPPA, Club 9 Events and Irelands 8 & 9 Ball Tour to play on :)

I'm in California at the moment. I will ask around and post anything that might be of interest.

I was talking to a chap the other day who also had to wait for his money, but he did get it.

I'll keep my ears, nose and eyes to the ground!

its simple why they have not been paid

KT was hoping that Mr Ho was going to buy the IPT in the process of the transaction Ho would end up footing the existing bills ie player earnings

Whats happened the american senate/congress have passed a bill that basically outlaws online gambling and that has led Mr Ho to reconsider not buy the IPT

Which will lead to KT running the IPT as before which he will because his reputation is on the line

Nothing to worry about

i do tend to agree that there is nothing to worry about.

easy for me to say im not waiting for cash if i was maybe i would think different !!!!

but in reality six tour events in total can only be a maximum cost of $10M

it seems a lot but surely with TV rights sponsoship a % on table sales advertising ect there must be a profit to be made and KT must see that as did HO

they currently owe what $1m in prize money its nothing in the big world of business
i mean you cant buy a decent house in london for that much !!!!!

chelsea's monthly wage bill is more than that :-D

Dear IPT Player,

You can pop the champagne! I am pleased to announce that we have successfully concluded our negotiations relating to the funding of the IPT.

The final documents are being finalized at this very moment. We will be signing on Monday. This means that player checks for the World Open will be issued within seven-to-ten days or sooner! Thank you again for your patience and understanding during this business transaction.

The Ho Interactive acquisition negotiations and documents should be finalized by the end of next week. A formal announcement will be made upon conclusion of the transaction. We anticipate announcing shortly additional major sponsors for the 2007 season as well as additional broadcasting contracts with major television companies in several international markets.

I will update you again on Monday with more definitive news! We are here to stay and continue to go forward building the largest international pool organization the world has ever seen. Many more good-news surprises are on the horizon. Have a great weekend.

Very truly yours,

Kevin Trudeau, Founder
International Pool Tour
