2006/7 Derbyshire 9 Ball Singles League
Details are now released for the 2006/7 Derbyshirepool.com American Pool League.
The new league will cater for the American cue sport enthusiasts in and around the Derbyshire area and will run on a monthly basis where players will play 2 matches at each monthly session. This is ideal for players who want to play competitive American pool at a low price without having to commit to weekly matches. All matches will be a race to 8 racks so a full days play each month is guaranteed!
Full details as follows.............
Venue: All matches to be played at Riley's American Pool & Snooker Club, 44A Babington Lane, Derby DE1 1EX. Tel/Fax: 01332 347307.
Dates: Players will play 2 matches at the above venue on the first Sunday of each month.
Format: All matches race to 8 racks. Alternate breaks. 2 points for a win. Rack "difference" will come into play if 2 or more players are tied on points. Based on 16 entries the league will be split in to 2 divisions of 8 players with each playing each twice. The top 4 in each division will enter the main money stages and play-off for the league title and prize money. The rest will enter a Plate event to win the remainder of the prize money.
Prize fund: Based on 16 entries the prize fund will be around £700. The final prize fund will be confirmed once the entry deadline has expired.
Entry/match fees: Entry to the league will be just £10, followed by match fees of £2.50 per match (ie £5 per month). The £10 deposit be paid in advance otherwise your name will not be in the league! Match fees to be paid at the start of each monthly seesion. This way the league has a decent prize fund for a low entry.
Entries are being taken now and the places are expected to fill up very quickly! To enter the league you are recommended to text/phone the organiser on 07708 502906 to reserve a spot. Details of where to send your entry will then be given.

It all breaks off this coming Sunday with 24 entrants playing for just over £1,000 in prize money
