The Saturday night tournaments have restarted in mid-March after a bit of a hiatus... They're run by Greg De Silva nowadays with a new handicap system and it's attracting quite a few runners too.

I can't remember when it starts now though... I'm sure someone will be able to tell you!

Have you tried the Chichester weekly 9-Ball events?

CHICHESTER

DAY: Wednesdays

TIME: 8.30pm (8.45 if you have phoned first)

ENTRY FEE: £5
New players pay £1 for 1st week, then £2 for 2nd etc.. Until full £5

FORMAT: Handicapped 9 Ball Tournament

H'CAP SYSTEM: Give and receive high rack starts

NUMBERS: Between 20 and 40 normally

EXTRA INFO:
- All money paid out to Winner/Runner Up and Plate Competition Winner
- 3 times a year the Top 16 play for "End of Season Big One"
- A very friendly club
- Well attended and normally attracts between 28 and 45 runners of varying ability
- 8 Titan tables with tight pockets and Powder Blue Simonis 860 cloth
- Pros welcome (as long as long as they declare their ability )

I can't usually make Chichester as I play 8ball wednesdays, + I don't have a car.

Brighton has finished permanently for the moment since there have only been 3 or 4 people turning up. I think they're talking about arranging it for another day (although I doubt it would help much) or maybe organising a bigger tournament less frequently and advertising it beforehand. I'll let you know for the pro9 calendar if it starts up again.
