Hi all,
I am new to american pool after a good few years playing english, but am loving the style and aggressiveness you can play with! I live in retford, but will be in Edinburgh all next week for work.
I was thinking of going up on the sunday and playing at belshill, but wondered if you can play in a tournament without joining, how much it is, how late it goes on for...(early start mon), and i saw Phil Burfords name in the last tournament, do many english people go & are they run well?
Who is going this weekend!
Thanks

Yes, you can definitely play and there's no one that'll be more hospitable that our Scottish cousins - but yes, sometime they do finish late.
Don't miss it!

Hi robinhood Yes, you can play in a SAPPA Tour Stop without joining the tour itself. The cost is £25 for non-members (£20 if you also decide to pay the £40 membership fee). The tournaments can go on quite late, depending on numbers, etc. Generally, they finish no later than 12midnight/1am. The format is Double Elimination to the last 16 followed by Single Elimination to find the winner. Prize money is paid down to the last 16. Races, again, are dependent on number of entrants, as well as number of tables. In Bellshill it shouldn't be any less than race-to-6 on the Winners' side and race-to-5 on the losers but that cannot be guaranteed 100%. We do get a few English lads up with 2 or 3 guys coming up from Sunderland (and they post on here, too!). As for them being well run, I'd say they are but then, to be honest, I don't have anything else to compare them with. Sadly, I'm missing it this weekend as I'm working at a Convention in Scarborough (and don't worry, Dave, I'll let you know what the Riley's there is like when I get home!) but the likes of Blue Suede, Devil and Destroyer from the Pro9 Forums should all be there. Good luck and hope you enjoy yourself! Best wishes thecardman PS If you can get up to Scotland a day early (and if there are still tickets available!) Ralf Souquet is doing an exhibition at The Creamary in Falkirk on the Saturday night. You can get full details on that by clicking here for Big Dave's article (and please note that tickets are £22.50).

Scott, they dont usually accept online entries.
Best to get yourself to the club on time (10:00), then you'll be guaranteed entry.
Check out the SAPPA website www.scottish9ball.com for more details.
Good luck!
