Hi cue fans Wednesday morning I will hopefully fly out to the Super Billiards Expo at Valley Forge in the U.S. Trip of a lifetime for me. Meeting lots of cue makers and friends that I have known electronically for years. Plus surrounded by cues! I am entered into a few comps while I am there and there are a few money matches already arranged....gotta gamble! I fly on to Florida after the Expo to stay with Dennis Searing, the most in demand cue maker on the planet......rock and roll!!!!! There will be too many highlights to mention here so I am going to keep a daily journal and take plenty of pictures. I will do each day (or days) as an article in Cue Corner when I get back. A couple of highlights will be picking up cues directly from the makers. You can wait a long time for cues these days so not only will it be great to pick up the product, it will be a real pleasure to meet the maker (!) in person finally! These two are very special indeed. The cue maker has made them out of blanks made by the great John Davis...the man who supplied George Balabushka with his blanks. Can't wait to pick them up!! Also, Jim Murnak has finished my new case in time for the show, he sent me these of the half finished article...... So I have already spent a fortune and I haven't even got there. Just bought my cricket bag (awesome idea, Lee!) and I am ready to go. Anyway, see you all in Croydon with a host of new toys and stories......if I get back in one piece. Cheers Chris. Yeah the case is something else. I have always wanted a fancy soft case. Great for the tour events as they are really light. Mine is awaiting a stain over the leather, so it brings out the tooling better. Sad thing is, Jim wants to keep it until the end of the show at his booth!

Varney J/B it is. A wise choice, sir....suits you sir. Do you want it sir? Do you? Quality piece of kit. If Kevin is there, I will go see him.
Thanks all, lots of pics will be taken. I even have a private meeting with Barry Szamboti one evening. Now that man gets mobbed (he only comes for one day) like a superstar.

Well, we are off to a cracking start. My flight from Leeds/Bradford Airport to Heathrow has been cancelled due to Hurricane holiday trasher (I don't know if the strong winds are actually called Hurricane holiday trasher, but hence forth they shall be known to me). Got to get a coach now.....7 hour journey [ This message was edited by: thediamond on 2008-03-11 19:13 ]

Good grief... being stuck on an ageing greyhoud (Bus) for 7 hours is definitely not nice, but so long as you get there and back safely, that's what matters Have a great time buddy Willie

He, he!!
Yes, sorry for the delay cue fans. Been really under the weather and not finished the article.
I have also been waiting the arrival of a few cues I bought at the show. I went absolutely crazy with the spending.
Watch this space.
