Looking at the rankings on the Eurotour, am I right in saying Mark should be there as he would need to have some sort of nightmare in Paris to miss out??

Like Daz says, I am in the event, Mark is 99% certain even if he had a nightmare in Paris he shoulb be ok. ...As for Karl, well im not so sure. Reason being......if Imran manages to get into the top4 on the rankings then there would already be 3 english in the event.....plus Tony Drago (lives in England, and is treated as british) My thoughts anyway. Just been on the Matchroom web site and read the old article about breaking in the Mosconi Cup this year....Main points below:-
1. The balls will be racked higher up the table with the 9 ball resting on the spot.
2. The cue ball must be struck from within a break box in the centre of the table.
3. On completion of the break shot, three balls must pass the headstring. This does not include the cue ball. Pocketed balls count, therefore if a breaking player made one ball on the break, only two would be required to pass the headstring.
Will the format be the same for the Masters as well?
I see it's winner breaks with races to 8 and with it being straight knock-out, I presume someone could travel all the way to Vegas, lose the lag and not get another shot....I would prefer alternate break, or similar to what the Eurotour does.

Great to see so many of our players in the mix though I share Daz's disappointment about Karl. I would have expected Matchroom to pick players based on achievement or pick a character that will be popular with the crowd and Karl managed both those achievements in a big way at the WPC but unfortunately seems to have gained nothing from it aside from his prize cheque.

I agree, he made a massive impression at the WPC and it is a shame to leave him out because we already have 3 brits.
Saying that it just shows how the talent of the British players is growing, i dont think i can remember a year (other than the very first ones, which i dont remember) where the English had 4 players involved. Now its just about our time again to add the WPM to the WPC and mosconi cup that we have brought home recently.

i believe karls got punished for other brits doing well in 07 shame! personally its wrong when you consider the players who have got spots for getting to last 16 last few years..
but good to have 3 brits! not sure why gomez didnt get invite maybe he coudnt get visa! but karl and vilmos foldes should have been nailed! why pick mika going off the last 12 months? not knocking his abilty as his a top player and a big name but it doesnt make sense to me along with the junior player, and few others if they wanted the big names why didnt they pick the biggest of all efren reyes? ronnie alcano? yang?wu?orcullo?archer? hohman euro champ why mika in front of hohman? so many questions to be asked how they pick the players .jasmin played last year so why no alison fisher this year as she is the most well known pool player in states including the men!
feel for karl 3rd world champs and he will get nothing from wpa it looks like, no world 8ball,no 10ball,world masters, world cup, world pool league tough school!
good luck to our boys who did make it ill be there as am playing grand masters and scott frost in race to 100 on actionreport!
