i think i'd have to give it a try to see. I currently have a pred 5k6 and i dont feel as though i get much vibration as it is, although maybe its just because i'm used to it.
If anyone has any info on these it'd be nice. Be worth knowing if its something to look into getting

Sounds like a load of tosh to me other than a nice looking plug for the end of your cue. It would have been good to provide some weblinks Deano I tried to look on their webiste for the price from my work PC but access was denied and the website was categorised as 'weapons' so maybe it's a bit of a tool after all

It's the same technology used in archery, shooting and golf... Here's the details in The Pro Shop: LimbSaver™ X-1 Cue Stick Stabliser [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2008-02-15 13:50 ]

Where is the proof that it works? Or do people just fork out $$$ for a rubber bung just on the off chance?

I got one cheap off ebay to give it a go. I could not tell if it helped at all.
But there is a big problem with it, when fitted on some cues they become too long to fit in some cases.

Have a look at their web site when you get home, there are testimonials from Olympic medalists and competitive champions in archery and fire-arms, they appear to be well founded and established business with a wide range of dampening products in various sports, and claim to be the USA's leading company in anti-vibration products.
Whether their technology is relevant to cue-sticks is hard to ascertain, but even Predator make a big thing about reducing "buzz" and vibration with their C4 construction techniques.
There is only this single product that they've made for the billiard industry - I guess people have to make the best informed decision about buying themselves, although as with all things, trying someone else's first and listening to those who's game you respect isn't a bad idea.
I can't seem to find any truly independent testimony - either people haven't tried it, or they are selling/sponsored by/endorsing them.
Grady "The Professor" Mathews endorses them and plays with one on his cue, and "Fast" Larry Gunninger swears by them - but he also has an interest in a shop that sells them.
All-in-all a healthy skepticism is a good idea, but perhaps if you need a bung, or you'd like to find out for yourself and the price isn't too exorbitant you could try it out?
It made sense to me, and I saw it for sale in a lot of places in the States.

OK... I've just searched AZB's forums and found some generally negative posts about it, some saying it's gimmicky, too long and a little loose fitting. A couple of other posts mentioned that their archery products were absolutely excellent, and that they could feel the difference with and without the device. It seems that they are most popular on break cues and that X-Breakers came with them prefitted, the theory being that the limbsaver dampens the *shockwave* of the impact when it reaches the butt of the cue, reducing the vibration that travels back up to the tip again. I hope this helps!!!
