What American 9 Ball Pool Rules Do You Use For Your Pro 9 Leagues/Tournaments etc And Also For TV Matches? As I know there is MORE than ONE set of rules for American 9 Ball Pool? Am I correct? And can the rules that you use for your Pro 9 leagues/tournaments and the other American 9 Ball Pool Rules and also for TV matches be used at ANY time - eg practice games? What are the differences for ALL the American 9 Ball Pool rules? Best website to go to to see ALL American 9 Ball Pool Rules?

Thank you for your time

The GB 9 tour uses standard WPA rules, with exeption of the break. The break is the main difference in the rules that people use.

A few main differences are

Normal WPA rules break - 4 balls must touch a rail after break

GB9 Rules - 3 points must be scored after a break, points are scored for every ball that either pots, or crosses the head string (the line what you break behind). If you do not score 3 points then it counts as a dry break (as if you have not potted at all) and the opposing player continues. (this is not a foul, the opponent only continues from the position that the balls lie).

There are variations of this rule, where sometimes, if you are the opponent, you can pass the shot back, if you are snookered for instance.

Another variation on the break is using the break box. This means that you are only allowed to break behind the line and in between the the diamond on the left, and the diamond on the right of the table (check this up on google if you dont understand).

The only other main rule i can think about that is changed is sometimes players play call pocket, where thay have to call the pocket that the ball is potted in to, so to prevent flukes.

Obviously you can alter the rules however you wish in practice, ie jump shots allowed/not allowed.

Yeh, I've been thinking the same thing. Is this a wind up or does the poster really just need to remove '9ball' from his screen name and replace it with 'complete'.
