During a American 9 Ball Pool game when you are 'snookered' after the break shot (but potting a ball off the break but you are then snookered for your next legal ball) when you do pot a ball on a push out, do you carry on shooting to clear the rack by potting the 9 ball to win? What happens in the situation 'do not count' when you pot a ball on the push out rule?
Thank you for your time

I've yet to see it happen (but feel sure it has). According to World Standardized Rules "Any ball pocketed on a push out does not count and remains pocketed except the 9-ball." Since the pocketed ball "does not count" I believe it would be the opposing players turn. Where is Riggers when he's needed

Playing a pushout is similar to playing a called safe in 8 ball the inning ends on that shot. Ie calling safe and potting your stripe means the next shot is played by your opponent even though you have potted a ball. In 9 ball the potted ball remains in the pocket (except 9ball) and the shooters innings ends. The opponent then can assess the table and decide whether to play his innings or to pass the table back to the player who played the push. The potting of a ball makes no difference to this sequence. ----------------- [ This message was edited by: PC on 2008-02-02 14:20 ]

Riggers is sleeping... and you don't need riggers to answer this one on here when you have experts like PC around with far more experience of this game than him
